Here is Lowndes County’s SPLOST VIII Project List. The biggest items are water and sewer at $23 million and sports at $13,274,912, followed by the historic Courthouse at $12 million. Note nothing about Internet speed or access, despite that being supposedly a high priority since the last SPLOST.

Don Davis asks me to note that the $150,000 “improvements to historic Carnegie library museum facility” is for fixing leaks in the roof and other things that need to be done to the building the county owns, and is not a contribution to the Lowndes County Historical Society Museum that is housed in that building.

The SPLOST VIII Agreement (2019 Election) is on the LAKE website, along with the project lists for Valdosta, Remerton, Hahira, Dasher, and Lake Park.

These lists were in the board packet for the preceding Work and Regular Sessions. Everything the county sent for that packet, plus images of each page, is is on the LAKE website. LAKE looks forward to the county putting all these packet documents on the county’s own website, along with the agenda and agenda sheets.
