Student protesters greet GA Gov. Nathan Deal @ VSU 16 Sep 2011

Possibly the last thing Gov. Nathan Deal expected to find at Valdosta State University greeted him: student protesters!

Their main question was about the impending Sept. 21st execution of Troy Anthony Davis, about whom Amnesty International says there is too much doubt.

The press had already noticed:

They followed him into his press conference, and asked him questions:

Questions ranging from E-Verify, to farmers objecting to anti-immigrant law HB 87, to the state of the university system, to jobs. Video will follow.

They followed him to his bus, still asking about Troy Davis.

Amnesty International notes:

In the days before Davis’ execution, the Georgia Board of Pardons & Paroles will hold a final clemency hearing – a final chance to prevent Troy Davis from being executed.
Governor Deal can stop that execution.
