The County Manager said it’s “in the hands of the clerk, if you’d like to look at it” for at least two documents, so not only did the agenda on the web lack even the one-sheet agenda item writeups, Commissioners weren’t provided copies of contracts they were being asked to approve. They vote this same evening, and the Planning Commission also meets 5:30 PM Tuesday.
The GEFA Loan Modification turns out to be about the Alapaha Water Treatment Plant loan approved 28 October 2014 for which “an addendum was requested” in April that doesn’t change the total, only the allocation of the funds due to additional engineering services. Both sides of Buck Cato Road (CR 880) are owned by Acree Investments and Chancy, who want it abandoned. The vehicles they want to surplus and sell seem to be mostly ones that were towed, plus County Manager Joe Pritchard wanted to add some solid waste disposal items. They didn’t say who the other two bids were for the 3/4 Ton Truck for the Extension Service, nor who else bid for the Tables and Chairs for the Emergency Operations Center. “Staff has requested” the interconnection of the North Lowndes and Kinderlou Water Systems. They adjourned the Work Session after ten minutes, and they’ll vote tonight at 5:30 PM.
1. Call to Order 4. Minutes for Approval
Video. Chairman Bill Slaughter reminded everybody the Regular Session is this evening.
5.a. GEFA Loan Modification
Video. Commissioner Demarcus Marshall wanted to know who was inspecting this work. Answer from County Engineer Mike Fletcher: GEFA, the contracting engineer, and the county.
5.b. Abandonment of Buck Cato Road (CR 880)
Video. Parcel 0043 016, due north of Hahira at the Cook County line. Commissioner Demarcus Marshall asked if Dr. Acree wanted it abandoned. County Engineer Mike Fletcher said Acree Investments and Chancy were all in one now, and yes, they wanted it abandoned. Also, the trails visible on the map are inside their hunt club on that parcel.
5.c. Declaration of Vehicles as Surplus and Authorization to Sell
Video. County Manager Joe Pritchard wanted to add some waste disposal items for lease to a franchisee. He didn’t say which one, but presumably DSS, Deep South Sanitation.
6.a. Bid for 3/4 Ton Truck for Extension Service
Video. A Commissioner wondered if that inexpensive bid would provide a good enough truck. Extension agent answered yes from the audience.
- 6.b. Bid for Tables and Chairs for EOC
6.c. Interconnection of North Lowndes and Kinderlou Water Systems
Video. It would run down James Road to McCormick. Commissioner Mark Wisenbaker wanted clarification as to where. Starts at Val Tech: paperwork in front of Commissioners incorrectly said Val Del. County Manager said “contract is in the hands of the clerk, if you’d like to look at it”.
