Biomass protesters @ VCC 24 March 2011

Black and white, young and old, conservative and liberal, college professors and unemployed: dozens of them demonstrated against biomass outside the Valdosta City Council meeting, 24 March 2011:

As Dr. George said to the City Council inside:

The public outcry about this across the political spectrum, from conservative to liberal.

Honk if you hate biomass:

Not everyone was NIMBY. A few protesters also spoke up for solar. Dr. Serrán-Pagán reminds us that:

We have plenty of sunshine here.
The mayor should know we can do solar, because he helped break ground for a solar plant about a month ago.
