Only one item, Agenda

Georgia Beer Company’s website
says “We are not open for business yet”,
but its
contact page
says “Say hello to the first Georgia brewery in Valdosta.”
They also have a facebook page.
Neither of which says where they will be located.
So, VLCIA, in one of your numerous mostly-empty business parks, or elsewhere?

GA Beer Co. logo

Looks like GA Beer Co. had a kickstarter fundraiser a couple of years ago, which says they all met at VSU.

Presumably this is the same Community and Economic Development Strategy
recently approved by the

Lowndes County Commission

ZBOA Packet 2018-02-06

Two cases, both contentious because neighbors blew them in for code violations.
Joshua Stevens of Wendover Road,
according to pictures submitted by neighbor Franklin J. Richards II,
built a building eight inches from another building.
“Staff Recommendation: Find inconsistent with the Variance Fteview Criteria and deny the requests.”

Deep South Sanitation (DSS) of Tucker Road

apparently has been using a neighboring
lot as a staging area for trash trucks without permit approval,
and there’s a complaint by Steve Edwards of Evergreen Landfill.
If I’m not mistaken, Evergreen Landfill is owned by
Advanced Disposal Services (ADS), and
this would appear to be the same Steve Edwards who has

repeatedly spoken for ADS
.
Probably many readers recall, Lowndes County sued DSS on behalf of ADS
all the way to the Georgia Supreme Court before finally coming up with a

Solid Waste Ordinance
that allows two trash collection services to co-exist
in Lowndes County.

FPL parent NextEra Energy admits solar and wind far better investments than pipelines 2018-01-26

Even Sabal Trail partner NextEra Energy’s earnings call has
far more about record solar and wind deployment and earnings
(“added $0.67 per share”)
than about pipeline declining earnings (“added $0.10 per share”)
and misinformation,

claiming Sabal Trail is operational
and on schedule
when

it isn’t
.

Which is better, NextEra, $0.67 or $0.10 per share?
Oh, wait, effectively you answered that:
“As the world’s current leader in wind, solar, and storage
development….”
.

Solar, NextEra Energy

Solar
, NextEra Energy

One sentence is NextEra’s only mention of Sabal Trail; nothing about
the Sierra Club lawsuit against FERC
that less than a week later saw

the DC Circuit Court reject all requests for rehearing
,
meaning as early as next week the court may mandate shutting down Sabal Trail.
NextEra company FPL is the sole remaining customer listed in Sabal Trail’s
custoner index.
Maybe it’s time to bail out and get on with solar power in the Sunshine State.

Videos: Passed resolution for dedicated state fees and bids for equipment @ VCC 2018-01-25

The big item was they passed the

Resolution to support GA HR 158 for dedicated fee collections
.

That and the

T-SPLOST projects and upcoming public meetings
, by Mayor Gayle.
There was only one Citizen to Be Heard, which was

me
, about the resolution and about public access to the Withlacoochee River
at Gornto Road in Valdosta.
