The apparently complicated rezoning did take 21 minutes,

Ed Hightower moved to recommend denial, seconded by Tommy Willis.
Vicki Rountree voted against, and the motion passed 6:1.

But the two longest were Valdosta City Cases,
almost 39 minutes on

8. VA-2025-08 Andrew Duren (417 Brookfield Road) C-C(c) to C-C
and
almost 44 minutes on

11. VA-2025-11 Stoker Development LLC (310 Eager Road) R-15 to R-6.

The Planning Commissioners recommended denial 4:3 on VA-2025-11 Stoker,
and approval everything else.

Commissioner Chip Wildes has been

reappointed by the Valdosta City Council.

The meeting had item 13. 2025 Comprehensive Plan Update but the item was never announced.

The Greater Lowndes Planning Commission (GLPC) picked a new Chair and Vice-Chair
at their November 2018 meeting.
They meet again this evening.

3. CU-2018-13 Scintilla Charter Academy 2171 East Park Avenue,

Their longest item was
3. CU-2018-13 Scintilla Charter Academy‘s
request to expand from an Elementary School to add a Middle School.
GLPC recommended approval unanimously, as they did for all other such items.

Videos: Branham subdivision, Bemiss Knights Academy, Lake Park @ GLPC 2015-09-28

Almost half an hour on the
Bill Branham subdivision on Copeland Road
resulted in a split denial: the only denial in this Planning Commission Regular Session.

Slightly less time on

the Charles Bennett accessory dwelling unit on Green Meadown Drive
got unanimous approval with staff conditions.

Ten minutes on the

Clint Joyner’s request for Knight’s Development’s
30-acre subdivision rezoning on Bemiss Knights Academy Road
got unanimous approval.
About the same on

Tim Blanton’s rezoning of 45+ acres to residential agriculture
passed unanimously.
Ditto

rezoning for Richard Bonner’s rezoning for
a fast-growth corridor between Highway 84 and Interstate 75.
Less time for

Jon Nijem’s expanded parking on Baytree Road
to pass unanimously.

Keith Sandlin’s

Lake Park case did sail through,
as did

John Thomas’ rezoning for a showroom for his show car business.

Commissioner Willis’ term was

coming up for reappointment.

six Valdosta items for tonight’s GLPC meeting, at no charge,
including all the maps.
See below those six Valdosta items linked into a copy of

a

an

The change to the

the City of Valdosta can’t divulge it.
