QuickTrip signs and law office parking @ ZBOA 2020-03-03

At the Valdosta-Lowndes County Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBOA) this Tuesday afternoon,
QuickTrip on GA 133

wants a variety of sign variances.

wants a parking variance for their building addition on North Patterson Street.

A couple of ZBOA members will have to recuse themselves from that second item.

Staff recommend finding both items inconsistent and for ZBOA to deny them.

In an unusual move, Valdosta Engineering and Stormwater Departments jointly
wrote half a page proposing a different parking arrangement than the applicant asked for from ZBOA, on the agenda for this Tuesday afternoon.

Two months ago at ZBOA: setbacks, exterior buildings, parking, landscaping, buffers, and tree protection, in four county cases and four Valdosta cases.

There were split votes on

Seven conditions were imposed on a unanimous vote on

Public Hearing at private law firm for VSU bond to private LLC 2016-10-21

Why is a public hearing for VSU bonds being held at a private law firm?

Is there no parking at VSU for the public to hear about this
$58,805,000 bond issue?
There is free parking at the county palace for which we the people footed around $51 million in bonds.

For that matter, why are bonds for a public university being held by a private LLC?
Why are they being issued to that private LLC by the shadowy

South Regional Joint Development Authority,
to which the Lowndes County Commission

just appointed Commissioner Clay Griner this May,
even though County Manager Joe Pritchard couldn’t tell Griner when that Authority meets?

Can’t the Lowndes County Commission provide this bond Public Hearing
with a public place to meet?

In the Valdosta Daily Times yesterday, October 5th 2016, and not online anywhere I can find it, was this Public Notice.

Downtown Parking Deck Public Comment Meeting 2016-03-15

On Valdosta’s website, 9 March 2016,
CVDA Hosts Public Forum for Proposed Downtown Parking Deck, Mar. 15

The City of Valdosta and Central Valdosta Development Authority will
host a public forum on Tuesday, March 15 to discuss a proposed new
parking deck for Downtown Valdosta. The forum will take place at 5
p.m. in the City Hall Annex Multi-Purpose Room, located at 300 N.
Lee Street.

The parking deck is being suggested as one option to create
additional parking opportunities in Downtown Valdosta. At the forum,
conceptual plans for the parking deck will be presented. Key staff
members will be present at the meeting, and the public will have the
opportunity to ask questions, provide feedback and voice concerns
related to the proposed project.

No quorum @ ZBOA 2014-10-07

There was an agenda with the

solar parking Doctor Arunas Urbonas case, and a county case about Design Standards for Single Family Dwellings,
but not enough ZBOA
members were available for a quorum, so today’s meeting is cancelled.
Maybe next month.
