Jody Hall is running for Lowndes County Commission District 5

Planting a sign Jody Hall is running for the Lowndes County Commission in the new District 5. Here’s his campaign website and his facebook page. I saw him at Valdosta Farm Days, 16 June 2012:

According to the VDT, 28 March 2012,

Jody Hall at Valdosta Farm Days 16 June 2012 He identified three core issues in Lowndes County that are a priority: Trash services, infrastructure and a fair approach to the inevitable growth that will occur in the county over the next four years.

In the 60’s and 70’s, Hall remembers when citizens would dump their trash on dead ends of county roads until collection sites were later implemented. He said privatization would be too costly for residents and would not provide services for electronic, yard debris and recycling that are already provided at collection centers.

Although operating costs for collection sites run at a loss for the county and the $100 annual usage costs are not shared by the majority of citizens, he said the County will have to endure such an expense.
