Primary election tomorrow, 22 July 2014

From County Commissioner to Georgia School Superintendent and U.S. Senate, you can vote in the primary election tomorrow, if you haven’t already voted. If I forgot any runoffs, please let me know.

Lowndes County Commission District 5

Nonpartisan Runoff:

I’ve linked above to items about each of these two candidates on the LAKE blog. As you can see, we know a lot more about Norman Bennett. And I will say that Bennett has made an effort to reach out to me, with some extensive discussion of the local situation and what he hopes to do about it. Griner has not.

Georgia Senate District 8

Incumbent Tim Golden is retiring.

Democratic Candidate (no runoff):

Republican Runoff:

Georgia School Superintendent

Republican Runoff:

U.S. Congress District 1

Incumbent Jack Kingston is running for Senate instead.

Democratic Runoff:

Tavio is endorsed by former GA-01 candidate Bill Gillespie. She has also made noises about opposing the Sabal Trail fracked methane pipeline, although she has not put anything about that on her campaign website.

Republican Runoff:

U.S. Senator

Incumbent Saxby Chambliss is retiring.

Democratic Candidate (no runoff):

Republican Runoff:

I got a robocall for Perdue claiming Kingston was a liberal, which I found highly entertaining. It’s no secret I’m not a fan of Jack.
