{"id":9937,"date":"2014-08-28T11:08:40","date_gmt":"2014-08-28T15:08:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/?p=9937"},"modified":"2014-08-28T12:22:50","modified_gmt":"2014-08-28T16:22:50","slug":"nydia-tisdales-offense-she-sat-in-the-front-row","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/08\/nydia-tisdales-offense-she-sat-in-the-front-row.html","title":{"rendered":"Nydia Tisdale&#8217;s offense: she sat in the front row"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dawsonnews.com\/section\/5\/article\/15480\/\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:300px\" src=\"http:\/\/media.morristechnology.com\/mediafilesvr\/upload\/dawsonnews\/article\/2014\/08\/26\/A-Tisdale_Mug.jpg\"><\/a><br \/>\nLandowner Johnny Burt&#8217;s excuse for having Nydia Tisdale ejected<br \/>\nfrom an event advertised as a public campaign rally:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\n<p>\n&ldquo;She promptly sat down on the front row on the end where she would<br \/>\nbe right in their face and was making everybody uncomfortable.&rdquo;\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\nShades of Ashley Paulk&#8217;s excuse for wanting that<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/05\/exclusive-franchise-on-photographing-county-commission-lcc-2013-05-28.html\">illegal bill of attainder<\/a><!--more--><br \/>\nagainst LAKE that the Lowndes County Commission continues to selectively enforce.<br \/>\nHe told me it was because I was &#8220;in his face&#8221; of someone speaking in<br \/>\nCitizens Wishing to Be Heard, even though I was sitting quietly<br \/>\ntwenty feet away, saying nothing.<br \/>\nIf the front row, though.<br \/>\nAnd apparently that&#8217;s Nydia Tisdale&#8217;s real &#8220;crime&#8221;: being seen to be videoing.<br \/>\nI ask: if those candidates and their host had nothing to hide<br \/>\nin their advertised public campaign rally,<br \/>\nwhy did they eject someone who was videoing it?<\/p>\n<p>\nMichele Hester wrote for Dawson News 26 August 2014,<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dawsonnews.com\/section\/5\/article\/15480\/\"><br \/>\nWoman arrested at rally<\/a>,<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\n<p>\nJohnny Burt and his wife Kathy, who own the popular tourist<br \/>\nattraction on Hwy. 52 in northeastern Dawson, played host to the<br \/>\nevent, which initially was billed as a meet-and-greet with Gov.<br \/>\nNathan Deal and U.S. Senate candidate David Perdue.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nBy the weekend, the rally had grown to include District 9 U.S. Rep.<br \/>\nDoug Collins, Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens, State School<br \/>\nSuperintendent hopeful Richard Woods and the heads of the state<br \/>\nagriculture, insurance and labor departments, among others.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nSheriff&#8217;s Capt. Tony Wooten, who was at the event in his official<br \/>\ncapacity, made the arrest.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;[Organizers] had requested that we have an officer presence there<br \/>\nat the event for security and that&#8217;s what he was there for,&#8221;<br \/>\nCarlisle said.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nWhen Tisdale refused to stop recording and leave the farm, Wooten<br \/>\nattempted to escort her off the property, according to the sheriff.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;That&#8217;s when she kicked him in the shin and elbowed him in the<br \/>\nmouth,&#8221; Carlisle said. &#8220;From that point on, she was charged with<br \/>\ncriminal trespass and felony obstruction.&#8221;\n<\/p>\n<p>\nTisdale maintains she had told Kathy Burt when she got to the farm<br \/>\nof her intention to record the speakers. The Burts deny that<br \/>\ncontention.\n<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;What she did is she came in and told my wife and daughter that she<br \/>\nwas there with the governor to record him, so we thought she was<br \/>\npart of their party,&#8221; Johnny Burt said Tuesday. &#8220;She misled my<br \/>\ndaughter and my wife.\n<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\nUm, having followed Nydia Tisdale&#8217;s videoing career for a couple of<br \/>\nyears now, and having heard her much longer version of what she<br \/>\ntold Kathy Burt in the<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fetchyournews.com\/archives\/19628-Video-Journalist-Forcefully-Removed-From-Republican-Meeting!.html\">sound interview with her by<br \/>\nBrian K. Pritchard<\/a>, I would bet Tisdale talked about previously<br \/>\nvideoing most of the candidates and Kathy Burt misunderstood<br \/>\nthat Tisdale was with the governor&#8217;s campaign.<br \/>\nA bit of due diligence by the landowner, or the governor&#8217;s campaign,<br \/>\nwould have prevented this whole incident.<br \/>\nOr a policy announced at the start of the event.<\/p>\n<p>\nAh, someone else, in addition to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/08\/nydia-tisdale-forcibly-ejected-from-republican-rally-in-dawsonville.html\">Attorney General Sam Olens<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/carterforgovernor.com\/nathan-deal-refuses-to-criticize-forcible-removal-of-video-journalist\/\">Jason Carter<\/a>, has spoken up:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\n<p>\nLinda Clary Umberger, chair of the local Republican Party, issued a<br \/>\npersonal statement on the incident.
