\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nA flood plain rezoning next to the Withlacoochee river came back from 2011,\r\nat the\r\n\r\n28 July 2014 Planning Commission meeting<\/a>,\r\nwhich voted unanimously for, as did the Valdosta City Council later.\r\n

\r\n\r\n7. VA-2014-05 Riverview Development LLC<\/a>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nThis is\r\n\r\nparcel 0074 088 on North Valdosta Road<\/a> behind Music Funeral Home,\r\nnext to Langdale Park,\r\non the other side of the Withlacoochee River from Foxborough.\r\n

\r\nCity Planner Matt Martin said only a tiny part of the property was\r\nin the floodplain of the Withlacoochee River.\r\n

\r\n\r\n\"Relation<\/a>\r\n

\r\nApplicant hadn’t done anything since the city fiddled with the LDR,\r\nand now wanted to market the property for commercial development,\r\nwhich requires a rezoning.\r\n

\r\nGuy Daughtry spoke for, saying since the annexation the only positive\r\nthing he’d done was to pay more taxes to the city.\r\nGLPC member Jody Hall wanted to know if he was going to come back with\r\na new plan for development. Answer: yes.\r\nNobody else spoke for or against.\r\nCommission with no further discussion unanimously voted to approve;\r\nHall made the motion; Wildes seconded.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nApparently it was previously discussed in 2011, only a few years out\r\nfrom the 2009 flood.\r\nValdosta City Council\r\n\r\nAmended Agenda 10 February 2011<\/a>:\r\n

\r\n\r\n\"300x172<\/a>\r\n5.b) Consideration of an Ordinance to rezone 3.59 acres from\r\nSingle-Family Residential (R-21) (County) (1.65 Acres) and Estate\r\nAgricultural (E-A) (County) (1.94 acres) to Mixed-Use Development\r\n(MXD) (City) as requested by Riverview Development (File No.\r\nVA-2011-01). The property is located along the west side of North\r\nValdosta Road immediately behind Music Funeral Home. The Planning\r\nCommission reviewed this request at their January Regular Meeting\r\nand recommended approval with 10 conditions (8-0 vote).\r\n

\r\n5.c) Consideration of an Ordinance to annex a total of 3.59 acres as\r\nrequested by Riverview Development (File No. VA-2011-02). The\r\nproperty is located along the west side of North Valdosta Road\r\nimmediately behind Music Funeral Home. The Planning Commission\r\nreviewed this request at their January Regular Meeting and\r\nrecommended approval (8-0 vote).\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nValdosta City Council\r\n\r\nMinutes 10 February 2011<\/a> say for the rezoning Guy Daughtry, Bill Nijem, and Roy Taylor\r\nspoke in favor, nobody spoke against, Council Tim Carroll moved to rezone, Council Deidra White seconded, Council u nanimously approved.\r\nFor the annexation nobody spoke, Carroll moved, White seconded, vote was again 6:0 for.\r\n

The Greater Lowndes Planning\r\nCommission reviewed this request at their July Regular meeting and\r\nrecommended approval (8-0 vote).\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nThe council voted to approve a rezoning request from Riverview\r\nDevelopment for a 3.59 acre property at 3819 N. Valdosta Rd. The\r\nproperty was changed from Mixed-Use Development (MXD) to\r\nCommunity-Commercial (C-C).\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
