\ncandidates for the Diondra Nichols slot.
\nHer term expired in 2014 anyway, so one can guess that this would

\nJody Hall’s term was 2013-2014, presumably brief because he was appointed
\nto replace somebody else.
\nThe other Lowndes County appointiees are:
\nTommy Willis (2010-2015) and

\nThe VLCCCTA was created in 1999 under the provisions of the State of
\nGeorgia for the purpose of establishing, maintaining and operating
\nthe conference center and providing for tourism services. The entity
\nis a jointly governed organization between the City of Valdosta and
\nLowndes County. The board of directors is composed of ten members.
\nThe City appoints four members and the County appoints four members.
\nThe City Manager and County Manager sit as Ex-Officio members on the
\nboard.\n<\/p>\n\nThe Authority is funded through lodging taxes assessed by the City
\nof Valdosta and Lowndes County. While the City and County fund the
\nAuthority via lodging taxes, they do not retain an ongoing financial
\ninterest or responsibility in the organization.\n<\/p>\n
\nThe Board meets in open session on the 4th Wednesday of every month.
\nMeetings are generally at 8 AM but can be verified by calling the
\nAuthority at 229-245-0513.\n<\/p>\n
