\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nAlmost unanimous against the\r\n\r\nHahira<\/a>\r\nrezoning<\/a>\r\nand\r\nannexation<\/a>,\r\neven though the\r\nreduction from 66.1 to 58.09 acres\r\nwas to exclude Hagen Bridge Road and obviate the\r\npaving issue.\r\nA\r\n\r\ncounty ULDC amendment request<\/a> for Special Events and such\r\nand a Valdosta\r\n\r\nLDR amendment request<\/a>.\r\nA\r\n\r\ncounty<\/a>\r\nrezoning\r\n\r\nto agricultural<\/a>\r\nand\r\nthree\r\n\r\nValdosta<\/a>\r\nuse changes:\r\n\r\ndaycare<\/a>,\r\n\r\n\r\nfraternity<\/a>,\r\nand\r\n\r\ncommercial office<\/a>.\r\n

      \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nHeard out of order after the Lowndes County cases,\r\napparently waiting for County Planner Jason Davenport to arrive from the\r\n\r\nLowndes County Commission meeting that started at the same time<\/a>.\r\nCity Planner Matt Martin mentioned\r\n\r\nLowndes County Commission letter of objection of 22 April 2014<\/a>\r\nand that the resubmission of the application reduced its size to\r\nobviate the county’s objections, but the county still had reservations,\r\nand the County Commission had just tabled this item<\/a>\r\na few minutes before.\r\nAt GLPC much discussion about why annex now if there were no current plans \r\nto develop.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      \r\nApplicant\r\n\r\nLaurence Nelson<\/a> spoke for.\r\nHahira residents\r\n\r\nTroy Davis<\/a>,\r\n\r\nJohn Adams<\/a>,\r\n\r\nDavid Dillard<\/a>,\r\nand\r\n\r\nBarbara Stratton<\/a>\r\nspoke against.\r\nShe briefly forgot that Hahira Mayor Bruce Cain was in the room.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\"HA-2014-03<\/a>\r\n

      \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nPlanning Commissioner Jody Hall once again said he thought\r\nthis annexation was premature.\r\n\r\nTommy Willis said<\/a> the conservation easement would mean\r\nadditional taxes coming in to the city of Hahira would be minimal.\r\n\r\nCeline Gladwin said<\/a> she was concerned about the annexation\r\nsprawing into Hahira’s greenbelt of agricultural land.\r\n

      \r\n\r\nTommy Willis tried a motion<\/a> to deny annexation.\r\nHe was reminded by City Planner Matt Martin that they actually\r\nhad to take up the rezoning first, before the annexation.\r\nThis led to lengthy discussion about how that would work,\r\nand that E-A zoning doesn’t exist in Hahira,\r\nand if no rezoning was approved, it would default to R-15,\r\nwhich was the most restrictive in Hahira.\r\n

        \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nAround eight changes, four of them substantive, said Lowndes County Planner Jason Davenport, some from the Sheriff’s office.\r\nHe walked through them.\r\nMost counties would put them on the web with the agenda packet,\r\nbut not Lowndes County.\r\nEventually a motion for a limit of 500 people as a small event\r\npassed unanimously.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
