\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nIn a\r\n\r\nSpecial Presentation<\/a> to Thomas Smith on retiring from the 911 center,\r\nwe saw a rare use of the county’s video camera to display the podium\r\nat the front of the room.\r\nEscalated from contingency fund to SPLOST payment (we still don’t know how much):\r\nfixing the\r\n\r\nJames Road 10-inch drop in 48 hours<\/a>\r\nin front of Westside Elementary School due to faulty road construction in 2008.\r\nAlso due to that same hasty 2008 James Road widening and realignment\r\nfor the\r\n\r\nJames Road second mall and massive subdivision mega-project<\/a>\r\nthat never happened,\r\nthey scheduled a Public Hearing for abandoning\r\n\r\nExcess Right of Way on James Rd & Riverside Dr.<\/a>\r\nAnd they voted\r\n\r\nto fix three discrepencies MIDS, Inc. found<\/a> in its contract of last year.\r\nThey voted for the low bid on the\r\n\r\nlift station pump<\/a> without ever saying what the other bids were.\r\n

\r\nThey reappointed\r\nAirport Authority Chairman Steve Everett\r\n\r\nfor another four-year term<\/a>; he did not appear.\r\nThey approved the\r\n\r\n911 Center surplus item sale<\/a>.\r\nThey scheduled a Public Hearing to abandon part of\r\n\r\nOld Statenville Road SE<\/a>\r\nbecause they say only seven cars a day, no, now it’s ten cars a day,\r\nuse it and there are no houses on it.\r\nNobody had any questions about the\r\n\r\na beer license<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nAnd the County Manager said\r\n\r\na quarantine on the Animal Shelter<\/a> was being lifted and\r\n\r\nthe next Work Session would be Tuesday<\/a> (27 May 2014)\r\nbecause of the holiday (Memorial Day).\r\n
