\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThe Industrial Authority is having a Special Called Meeting Tuesday at 4:45 PM,\r\nthe agenda for which goes straight into Executive Session for no stated reason.\r\nIs that even legal, as\r\n\r\nI’ve asked before about a VLCIA executive session<\/a>?\r\n

\r\nAlso, why is\r\nG. Norman Bennett still listed as a board member and Vice Chairman<\/a>, even though according to the VDT<\/a>\r\nhe resigned from VLCIA 13 March 2014?\r\nI asked him about that in Hahira\r\na month ago today<\/a>\r\nand he said he’d talk to VLCIA.\r\nSomebody didn’t follow through.\r\n

\r\nHere’s\r\n\r\nthe agenda<\/a>,\r\nwhich says they’re having an invocation for the purpose of discussing real estate\r\nand gives no reason for the Executive Session.\r\nAlso from the\r\nGeorgia Open Meetings Act of 2012<\/a>, 50-14-3(b)(1):\r\n

\r\n

\r\nNo vote in executive session to acquire, dispose of, or lease real\r\nestate, or to settle litigation, claims, or administrative\r\nproceedings, shall be binding on an agency until a subsequent vote\r\nis taken in an open meeting where the identity of the property and\r\nthe terms of the acquisition, disposal, or lease are disclosed\r\nbefore the vote or where the parties and principal settlement terms\r\nare disclosed before the vote;\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nSo just in case this Executive Session is for discussion of real estate,\r\nwe can look forward to hearing what that is in an open session soon.\r\n
