\r\nHave you heard there’s a U.N. agency going around getting\r\nlocal governments to sign “Agenda 21” into ordinances that\r\nwill take away your private property through eminent domain?\r\nIf not, you’ve avoided the propaganda put out by\r\nfossil fuel companies to subvert sustainability.\r\nIf you have, here’s why it’s bunk.\r\n

\r\nThere is an organization that promotes measures for\r\nsustainability to local governments.\r\nSustainability as in arranging for local resources to\r\nbe available for us and our children and grandchildren.\r\nClean air, clean water, forests, education, and private property\r\nrights including not letting developers or big corporations\r\ndamage your private property.\r\nAre you against any of those things?\r\n

\r\nAn organization promoting sustainability with local governments is called\r\n\r\nICLEI\u2013Local Governments for Sustainability<\/a>.\r\nICLEI says it is:\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n

\r\nthe leading global network devoted to local governments engaged in\r\nsustainability, climate protection, and clean energy initiatives. The\r\norganization was formerly known as the International Council for Local\r\nEnvironmental Initiatives.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nICLEI has heard about the conspiracy theories and has written up\r\n\r\na rebuttal<\/a>.\r\nThere’s no point in quoting it here, because people who believe\r\nthe propaganda won’t believe it anyway.\r\nI would go dig up some independent third-party evidence, but wait!\r\n

\r\nI already have dug up enough evidence about\r\n\r\nthe fossil fuel company funding<\/a>\r\nof the “Agenda 21” talking points propaganda.\r\nThose companies have the motive: strip mining, pollution,\r\nand\r\n\r\ngouging pipelines to the sea to export LNG<\/a> are not sustainable,\r\nso sustainability cuts into their profits.\r\nThey have the money, which they got from those profits from strip mining and pollution.\r\nAnd the evidence says they’re behind those anti-sustainability talking points.\r\n

\r\nGiven that I’ve never seen anyone who repeats those talking points\r\never actually provide any evidence for any part of the propaganda\r\nbeing true, that’s enough for now.\r\n
