Lawson Street,\r\nin the old Smith Hospital Doctors Building in Hahira,\r\n6PM April 26th 2014.\r\n<p>\r\nThat <a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/03\/crazy-qualifying-season-finally-completed.html\">includes<\/a>:\r\n<H4>Georgia General Assembly<\/H4>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\nState Senate District 8:\r\nEllis Black (R switched from House 174),\r\nJohn Page (R switched from County Commission District 5),\r\nBikram Mohanty (D ran last time and placed well),\r\nand\r\nRichard Raines (R not running again for County Commission District 2).<!--more-->\r\n<li>\r\nState House 175: Amy Carter (R incumbent)\r\n<li>\r\nState House 176 Jason Shaw (R incumbent)\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\r\nOld US 41 North, or Church Street in Hahira, divides\r\nHouse districts 175  on the west from district 176 on the east.\r\n(To see this, go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sgwebmaps.com\/vote\/\">VALORGIS Election Boundary Map<\/a>, and under Layers On-Off select House-Senate-Congress and Georgia House Districts.)\r\nSince those candidates are running unopposed, it&#8217;s unlikely they will appear,\r\nbut the Georgia Senate candidates are clamoring to be there.\r\n<H4>\r\nLowndes County Commission<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/98706376@N00\/6508005773\/sizes\/z\/in\/set-72157628409688983\/\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:123px\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7005\/6508005773_355a131e43_n.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<\/H4>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\n\r\nDistrict 2 will be decided in primary May 20th:\r\nScott Orenstein (R) and Jody Hall (R).\r\n<li>\r\n\r\nSuperdistrict 5 nonpartisan Special Election May 20th:\r\nNorman Bennett,\r\nClay Griner,\r\nGretchen Quarterman.\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gretchenforlowndes.com\/blog\/map\/\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:150px\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gretchenforlowndes.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/lowndescommsuper-45-001-small.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nDisclosure: for anyone who doesn&#8217;t know, Gretchen Quarterman is one of the\r\nprincipals of LAKE, and LAKE supports\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gretchenforlowndes.com\/blog\/\">\r\nGretchen Quarterman for Lowndes County Commission District 5.<\/a>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<H4>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/03\/crazy-qualifying-season-finally-completed.html\">\r\nLowndes County Board of Education<\/a><\/H4>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lowndesdems.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/lowndessbR-2012_MAP.jpg\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lowndesdems.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/lowndessbR-2012_MAP-231x300.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\nDistrict 1: Mike Davis (incumbent) and Bobby Watford.\r\n<li>\r\nDistrict 2 (open seat): Eric Johnson, Tara Parker, and Mark Barber.\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\r\nLCBOE District 1 only goes as far west as Val Del Road,\r\nbut I&#8217;m guessing those candidates are invited.\r\n<p>\r\nTo check your districts and your voter registration, see\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/mvp.sos.state.ga.us\/\">My Voter Page<\/a>\r\nby Georgia Secretary of State.\r\n<p>\r\n -jsq\r\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Tonight is the first open candidates forum of the election season, for all candidates running for offices voted on by residents of Hahira, at the Hahira Historical Society, 116 E.
