Commissions<\/a>.\r\nUnfortunately,\r\nunlike\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/04\/you-can-apply-to-serve-on-a-board-or-commission.html\">\r\nValdosta&#8217;s list<\/a>,\r\nmost of the names in the county&#8217;s list have no links to further information,\r\nand there&#8217;s no indication of which positions might be open\r\nor how to apply for them.\r\n<p>\r\n<strong>Update: 4:30 PM 24 April 2014:<\/strong>\r\nAnd there&#8217;s the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lowndesdems.org\/2014\/04\/24\/apply-to-be-on-board-of-elections-april-28-deadline\/\">Board of Elections<\/a> which is decided by a completely different process with a quicker deadline of 28 April 2014.\r\n<p>\r\nWe do know there&#8217;s a vacancy on the Valdosta-Lowndes County Industrial\r\nAuthority (VLCIA), which presumably will be filled after the upcoming\r\nSpecial Election May 20th, but the county has given no indication of when.\r\nThe only way the county usually announces open positions is when they\r\nappear on the County Commission&#8217;s agenda, which usually shows up online\r\nFriday for voting on Tuesday.\r\nFor example, the county has appointed:<!--more-->\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\n2014-04-22:\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/04\/videos-no-you-cannot-speak-lcc-2014-04-22.html#Dangerous-Dog-Board\">Amanda Hall of Baytree Animal Hospital to the Dangerous Dog Board<\/a>\r\n<li>\r\n2014-04-08: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/04\/change-order-klvb-and-pipeline-lcc-2014-04-08.html#KLVB\">Greg Powell of Langdale Industries to Keep Lowndes-Valdosta Beautiful Board<\/a> 8 April 2014\r\n<li>\r\n2014-01-28:\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/lowndescounty.com\/files\/minutes\/regular%20session%201-28-14%20final.pdf\">\r\nMolly Deese to Valdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center &#038;
