\nand a bravura performance by Angela Crance of Wiregrass Tech,
\nwith a strong supporting role by VLCIA Chairman Roy Copeland,
\nand Mary Gooding standing in for VSU.
\nInternet access (as "telecommunications infrastructure")
\ncame up in Project Manager Allan Ricketts' report as a requirement for
\n
\na Fortune 500 customer service operation<\/a>
\nand
\nfor a
\n
\nNational health care service provider<\/a>,
\nboth considering locating here,
\nalso as
\nbandwidth<\/a>,
\nas a requirement for
\njobs<\/a>.
\nThat was the main theme of
\n
\nExecutive Director Andrea Schruijer's report<\/a>,
\nespecially in rural parts of our county,
\n
\nespecially for a home-based call center.<\/a>
\nEven Rotary Clubs<\/a>
\nneed broadband.\n<\/p>\n

\nVLCIA is also helping find potential sites for several
\n
\nutility-scale photovoltaic solar installations<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe Industrial Authority Board was down to three members, barely a quorum:
\nMary Gooding, Chairman Roy Copeland, and Tom Call.
\nWhereabouts of Norman Bennett and Jerry Jennett were undetermined.
\nI can't complain; I was in bed with a sinus infection.\n<\/p>\n
