\nIs there a County Commission Work Session this morning at 8:30 AM?\nCan't find out from the county's website: it's down again.\nIs this a good way to demonstrate that Internet access is\n\n"one of the number one issues"<\/a>?\n<\/p>\n

\n\n\"Firefox\"<\/a>\nFirst noticed about 7AM,\nhttp:\/\/www.lowndescounty.com\/<\/a>\nnot responding, same as\n\nthree weeks ago.<\/a>\nOnce again I also tried it from somewhere far away geographically and on another\nISP, with the same results as last time.\n<\/p>\n

\nSo it looks like the Lowndes County Commission's website is down.\nSpeaking of far away, why does it seem to be hosted in Dallas, Texas?\n<\/p>\n

\nWell, let's see if there's any information on their\n\nfacebook page.<\/a>\nNope; still content-free.\n<\/p>\n

\nHere's a response Gretchen got from County Clerk Paige Dukes\nwhen she inquired after the last outage:\n<\/p>\n\n\n

\nGood Morning Gretchen,\n

\nWe received a reply from the county\u2019s web provider yesterday regarding\nyour outage question. Please see his statement below:\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI did receive word that the hosting facility was having 'intermittent'\nconnectivity issues that afternoon but I was able to hit the site every\ntime I tried. I also had no other complaints about it that day. I\nguess I should have told you but since I never saw an outage, and I\nnever received any alerts, I thought it must have just been some\nregional issue.\u201d\n<\/blockquote>\n

\nThank you for bringing this to our attention, the county did not\nreceive any comments other than yours that there was a problem with the\nsite. I really appreciate you bringing it to our attention.\n<\/p>\n
