\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nAn unexpected concern about\r\n\r\nlimiting someone’s ability to expand his business<\/a>\r\nwas expressed by\r\nLame Duck Commissioner Richard Raines, the same who\r\nmade the motion for the exclusive franchise for trash collection by\r\nADS, and who apparently (in executive session so we don’t know for sure)\r\nvoted twice to sue local business Deep South Sanitation.\r\nThey spent five or six minutes on\r\n\r\nan annexation request by Lake Park<\/a> that was not on the agenda,\r\neven though they received it last week.\r\nThey vote tonight at 5:30 PM,\r\nand don’t forget\r\n\r\nthe budget hearings continue all day today<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nOne road in\r\n\r\nthe Nelson Hill subdivision<\/a> wasn’t up to snuff and will be omitted\r\nfrom the adoption of infrastructure; that’s better than the county’s\r\nprevious practice for that development of\r\nstaff waivers with no public hearings<\/a>.\r\nPlus four rezonings, one for\r\n\r\na former County Commissioner<\/a>\r\nand another\r\n\r\nfor a community well for a development<\/a>.\r\nAnd the annual contract renewal for the\r\n\r\nMIDS on-call bus system<\/a>,\r\nplus\r\n\r\na master software service contract<\/a>.\r\n

        \r\nCommissioner Richard Raines wanted to know if the applicant was OK with\r\ncondition number 1, which limits uses\r\nto pecan orchard, event facility, and horseback riding lessons.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nAnswer: yes, although condition 2 provides some flexibility.\r\nCondition 1 is important because the event facility is not allowed in E-A.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nThe irony of what Raines said his concern was:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nI would hate to lock the applicant into a use\r\nthat limits his ability to expand his business later on if he desired.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

        \r\nThis is the same Richard Raines who\r\n\r\nwho made the motions to close the county’s solid waste collection facilities\r\nand to pass the Exclusive Franchise with ADS<\/a>;\r\nthe same Richard Raines who apparently repeatedly voted to sue\r\nlocal business Deep South Sanitation (we don’t know for sure because\r\nthose suing votes were taken under cloak of executive session).\r\nAnd now he’s concerned about limiting someone’s ability to expand his business!\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall wanted to know if the applicant had\r\nidentified any types of events.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nA: yes, mostly weddings.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      5. \r\n\r\nGrant Re-Application for the Rural Transportation Program and Associated Resolution<\/a>\r\n\"Grant<\/a>\r\n

          \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nIT Director Aaron Kostyu said iVision is a certified integrator of\r\nservices for cisco, Microsoft, and others.\r\nInititally they plan to use iVision for Microsoft SQL.\r\nThis is a master agreement that handles legal wording and permits statement\r\nof work for further projects.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

          \r\nCounty Manager Joe Pritchard wanted to be sure it had been reviewed\r\nby the county attorney.\r\nAnswer: Yes.\r\n

          \r\nCommissioner Crawford Powell wanted to know if this was something that\r\ncould be done in-house or would it need to go out.\r\nAnswer: Yes, esp. for initial project, upgrading SQL array.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
