1PM: BroadBand<\/a><\/H4>\r\n

\r\nChairman Bill Slaughter has a five year goal of making broadband\r\navailable. Some possibility of creating a fibre ring.\r\nHe says he’s working with the City of Valdosta.\r\n

\r\nWell, a year ago in February he said broadband was\r\n\r\n“one of the number one issues”<\/a>,\r\nbut in October he said\r\n“we have broadband”<\/a>,\r\nso it’s anyone’s guess what his opinion will be in a few months.\r\n

1:06PM: Outsourcing<\/a><\/H4>\r\n

\r\nCommissioner Crawford Powell wants to outsource more county services.\r\n

\r\nThat’s working so well, after all; see the next note.\r\n

1:19PM: Trash evaluation<\/a><\/H4>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall wants an evaluation\r\nof the current\r\n\r\nexclusive franchise agreement<\/a> for trash collection,\r\nand accountability.\r\nApparently ADS is not providing an annual report nor a recycling rebate.\r\n

\r\nIn that agreement, 12. Reporting.<\/a>\r\n

\r\nFranchisee shall submit a written report on a yearly basis to the\r\nCounty no later than fifteenth (15th<\/sup><\/small>) day of February immediately following the end of each calendar year\r\n(whether or not such franchise is renewed) covering such claendar year and\r\nreporting the information required by and in accordance with the Solid Waste Ordinance.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
