That can take some work. Here&#8217;s an example.<\/p>\n<p>Since <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/06\/five-million-dollars-for-one-intersection-gretchen-quarterman-sgrc-2011-09-19.html\"> Gretchen Quarterman asked what $5 million for one intersection would buy<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/98706376@N00\/7321960420\/in\/photostream\/\"> <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" class=\"at-xid-6a0120a58214e4970b016767047422970b\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/6a0120a58214e4970b016767047422970b-pi.jpg\"    \/><\/a> T-SPLOST plans have been filed and <a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/corrected-t-splost-southern-region-cost-changes.html\"> a constrained list<\/a> and then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.it3.ga.gov\/Documents\/FinalList\/southern-finalinvestmentlist.pdf\"> a final list approved by GDOT<\/a>. Price tags <a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/09\/corrected-t-splost-southern-region-cost-changes.html\"> jumped wildly up and down<\/a> in the constrained list. For example, widening less than 3 miles of Old US 41 North from North Valdosta road to Union Road <a href=\"\/blog\/2011\/08\/50-increase-for-old-us-41-north-widening-now-12-million-t-splost.html\"> jumped from $8 million in June 2011 to $12 million in August<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the final list, this item seems to be the one Gretchen was talking about:<\/p>\n<blockquote>RC11-000100 St Augustine Road at Gornto Road Intersection Improvements<\/blockquote>\n<p>You can find that one line on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.t-splost.com\/\">www.t-splost.com<\/a>, which seems to be the state&#8217;s propaganda site for pushing T-SPLOST.<\/p>\n<p>To find the current dollar amounts, you have to rummage around elsewhere until you find\n\n<!--more-->\n<a href=\"http:\/\/dot.ga.gov\/localgovernment\/FundingPrograms\/transreferendum\/Documents\/ProjectList\/Southern%20GA.pdf\"> a list by GDOT<\/a>, which says $2,109,391 for that project, all paid for by T-SPLOST. That&#8217;s not $5 million anymore, so this one apparently jumped down in price. This item also includes a cost line item marked UTL, which one would guess is for Utiltiies, of $250,000.<\/p>\n<p>But what does the money go for? That&#8217;s yet another document, also on <a href=\"http:\/\/dot.ga.gov\/localgovernment\/FundingPrograms\/transreferendum\/Pages\/ProjectList.aspx\"> GDOT&#8217;s website,<\/a> called <a href=\"http:\/\/dot.ga.gov\/localgovernment\/FundingPrograms\/transreferendum\/Documents\/ProjectList\/Southern%20GA.pdf\"> Southern Georgia Region Final Investment List Report TIA<\/a>, which has the appended details for that Gornto intersection project.<\/p>\n<p>You may wonder where on the web you can find these project sheets broken out like this so you can flip through them; maybe even compare the final, constrained, and unconstrained lists to see how the prices and descriptions varied. I wonder that, too. I made this HTML version for this blog post.
