\r\nBIRD SUPPER RESCHEDULED – March 5\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nFor more than 50 years, local citizens have met face to face with\r\nmembers of the General Assembly during the Lowndes County Bird\r\nSupper. Hosted by Lowndes County and the City of Valdosta on behalf\r\nof our community’s local legislative delegation, this year’s Bird\r\nSupper promises to be one of the best yet!\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThe event will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014,<\/strike>\r\n\r\nDue to severe weather warnings issud for the Atlanta area, the Lowndes County Bird Supper has been moved to March 5,\r\n<\/span>\r\n at 5:00 p.m. at\r\nthe old railroad depot, downtown Atlanta. Tickets are $50.00 and\r\ninclude refreshments and a quail dinner. Attendees will enjoy the\r\nmusic of the Valdosta State University Faculty Jazz Ensemble, while\r\nmeeting with state officials in a business casual atmosphere.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nReports of snow and sleet began in north Georgia early Tuesday\r\nmorning as most of metro Atlanta is under a winter storm watch or\r\nwarning.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nChannel 2’s Darryn Moore spotted a mixture of snow, sleet and rain\r\nin Floyd County.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n“We were conscious for the safety of our citizens and the\r\nlegislature and our delegation, so we just decided the best thing to\r\ndo was to postpone it until March the 5th,” Gayle continued.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nAnyone who has already purchased a ticket will not need to buy a new\r\nticket. If you have not purchased a ticket but would like to,\r\ntickets are on sale at Valdosta City Hall and at the Lowndes County\r\nAdministrative building in Valdosta.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nVALDOSTA — 2014 Lowndes County Bird Supper Postponed to March\r\n5\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nSevere weather predicted this week creates unsafe travel conditions\r\nfor participants\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe Lowndes County Bird Supper, originally scheduled for this\r\nWednesday, has been postponed. The event, co-sponsored by the City\r\nof Valdosta and Lowndes County, will be held on Wednesday, March 5.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe decision was made for the utmost safety of all involved with the\r\nevent. The Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather\r\nService predicts the potential for ice and snow for north Georgia\r\nthis week. Georgia Governor Nathan Deal has declared a State of\r\nEmergency for 14 counties, with the possibility of more to be added\r\nlater.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nCitizens with reserved tickets to the Bird Supper, originally\r\nscheduled for Feb. 12, are being contacted with the new details. The\r\nlocation of the event has not changed. The information has also been\r\nposted to both the City of Valdosta and Lowndes County web sites.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
