\r\nLOWNDES COUNTY BIRD SUPPER—Tickets on sale now!\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nFor more than 50 years, local citizens have met face to face with\r\nmembers of the General Assembly during the Lowndes County Bird\r\nSupper. Hosted by Lowndes County and the City of Valdosta on behalf\r\nof our community’s local legislative delegation, this year’s Bird\r\nSupper promises to be one of the best yet!\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThe event will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. at\r\nthe old railroad depot, downtown Atlanta. Tickets are $50.00 and\r\ninclude refreshments and a quail dinner. Attendees will enjoy the\r\nmusic of the Valdosta State University Faculty Jazz Ensemble, while\r\nmeeting with state officials in a business casual atmosphere.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe Lowndes County Bird Supper is our community’s chance discuss\r\nupcoming or pending legislation with lawmakers, with an opportiunity\r\nto explain how legislative decisions impact South Georgia. \r\nValdosta Mayor John Gayle is encouraging everyone in Valdosta and\r\nLowndes County to purchase tickets to the Bird Supper, which will be\r\nheld in Atlanta on February 12….\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nGayle added that this event is the largets of it’s kind among all\r\nother cities and counties in the state.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nGayle used the Health Sciences center in Valdosta as an example of\r\nhow effective the Bird Supper can be when it comes to getting\r\nlegislators to listen to the citizens of Valdosta and lowndes\r\nCounty.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n“Two years ago when the Health Sciences Center was taken out of the\r\nstate budget, after the Bird supper it was put back in rthe budget,”\r\nGayle pointed out.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
