Ford<\/a>\r\nthe previous evening.\r\nA quick search finds nothing about the\r\n\r\nNelson Hill Wells<\/a>,\r\nand no mention of VSU or any of the professors there who have\r\n\r\nexpressed\r\nconcern and asked for access to the site<\/a> to conduct an independent study.\r\n

\r\nUSAF ANNOUNCES AN\r\n
\r\nENVIRONMENT ASSESSMENT\r\n<\/center>\r\n

\r\nIn accordance with the National Environmental Policy
\r\nAct and Air Force regulations, the Air Force Civil
\r\nEngineer Center (AFCEC) has completed a Revised Draft
\r\nEnvironmental Assessment (EA), Finding of No
\r\nSignificant Impact (FONSI), and a Finding of No
\r\nPracticable Alternative (FONPA) to evaluate the
\r\nconsequences of the following stated proposed action:\r\n

\r\nThe revised Proposed Action would involve the
\r\nconstruction of 11 housing units for senior leadership on
\r\na 15-acre parcel on the base and 90 units on an
\r\napproximately 60-acre parcel located northwest of the
\r\ncity of Valdosta, GA on Val-Del Road (the Val-Del
\r\nParcel). This represents a reduction of 83 homes at the
\r\nVal Del site when compared to the original proposal.
\r\nDevelopment would also require housing area
\r\ntransportation infrastructure (e.g., roads) and utility
\r\nconnections for each housing unit, as well as desired
\r\ncommunity features such as athletic areas and community
\r\ncenters. The land area underlying the on-base units
\r\nwould be leased to the developer for a period of up to 50
\r\nyears; the land area for the off-base parcel is privately
\r\nowned and a developer will develop, own and operate the
\r\noff-base housing area\/units.\r\n

\r\nHard copies are available for public review at the South
\r\nGeorgia Regional Library in Valdosta, Georgia. The
\r\npublic is invited to review these documents and make
\r\ncomments during the 30-day comment period from now
\r\nuntil March 10, 2014. To comment, or for more
