Ford, before he spoke at the\r\nLake Park Chamber Annual Awards Dinner.\r\nHe said he had been able to get on the site of the proposed Moody Family\r\nHousing about a year ago.\r\nI mentioned the\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2014\/02\/nelson-hill-wells.html\">\r\nNelson Hill Wells<\/a>\r\nand he said they had spent a lot of time already investigating\r\nwater issues, and now the Air Force has received the environmental assessment.\r\nPerhaps it includes the missing piece this time,\r\nand maybe there&#8217;s a way for the public and local professors\r\nto provide input.\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.moody.af.mil\/library\/biographies\/bio.asp?id=15728\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moody.af.mil\/shared\/media\/bio\/Col%20Ford.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.moody.af.mil\/library\/biographies\/bio.asp?id=15728\">\r\nColonel Edward Ford<\/a> is commander of the 23d Mission Support Group at\r\nMoody AFB, Ga. He leads a group of more than 1,450 military and\r\ncivilian members providing support and services to a population of\r\n28,000 active duty, retired military and family members. His group\r\nmaintains an installation with more than 830 buildings and more than\r\n17,500 acres, including an adjacent bombing or strafing range. He is\r\nresponsible for ensuring the readiness of support forces to mobilize\r\nand deploy to build, secure, and sustain air base operations at\r\naustere bare base locations anywhere in the world.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThe 23d Mission Support Group also retains responsibility for civil\r\nengineering, environmental compliance,<!--more--> disaster preparedness\r\nresponse, fire protection, security forces, airfield navigational\r\nsystems, communications-computer systems, contracting,\r\ntransportation, supply, food service, housing, recreation, family\r\nand community support programs, personnel, manpower, education and\r\ntraining.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.af.mil\/AboutUs\/Biographies\/Display\/tabid\/225\/Article\/108668\/brigadier-general-timothy-s-green.aspx\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"http:\/\/media.dma.mil\/2013\/Oct\/02\/2000714034\/670\/394\/0\/131002-F-PB123-953.JPG\"><\/a>\r\nAccording to Col. Ford,\r\nGeneral Green at Langley received the environmental assessment a day or so ago.\r\nCol. Ford clarified that Gen. Green is next up the chain of command\r\nin ACC.\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.af.mil\/AboutUs\/Biographies\/Display\/tabid\/225\/Article\/108668\/brigadier-general-timothy-s-green.aspx\">\r\nBrig. Gen. Timothy S. Green<\/a> is the Director of Installations\r\nand Mission Support, Headquarters Air Combat Command, Joint Base\r\nLangley-Eustis, Va. He leads ACC&#8217;s base and expeditionary combat support\r\nactivities for civil engineering, security forces and contracting\r\npersonnel. General Green also provides oversight and guidance to\r\nexpeditionary and garrison mission support groups.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<p>\r\nMore about ACC:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acc.af.mil\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.acc.af.mil\/shared\/AFImages\/acc_welcome.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.acc.af.mil\">\r\nAir Combat Command<\/a>, with headquarters at Joint Base Langley-Eustis,\r\nVa., is a major command. It was created June 1, 1992, by combining\r\nStrategic Air Command and Tactical Air Command . ACC is the primary\r\nprovider of air combat forces to America&#8217;s warfighting commanders&#8230;.\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p><p style=\"float:right;font-size:120%\">\r\n<strong>\r\n23d Wing,<br> Moody AFB,<br> Ga.\r\n<\/strong>\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n<strong>\r\nNinth Air Force<\/strong>,\r\nwith headquarters at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., is dedicated to\r\norganizing, training, and equipping Air Combat Command fighter\r\nforces based throughout the Southeastern United States. Ninth Air\r\nForce comprises eight active-duty wings and two direct reporting\r\nunits with more than 480 aircraft and 28,000 active-duty and\r\ncivilian personnel.
