McKinney,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.valdosta.edu\/administration\/president\/inauguration\/inauguration-information.php\">\r\nninth president of VSU<\/a>, and ex-officio VSU Foundation board member,\r\nwho at the solar canopy inauguration said\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/11\/i-am-committed-to-developing-a-culture-of-sustainability-on-this-campus-vsu-president-mckinney-save-2013-11-15.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.ytimg.com\/vi\/INZ1a4svE3c\/default.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/11\/i-am-committed-to-developing-a-culture-of-sustainability-on-this-campus-vsu-president-mckinney-save-2013-11-15.html\">&#8220;I am committed to developing a culture of sustainability on this campus&#8221;<\/a>.\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\r\nThe two attendees from\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ww2.valdosta.edu\/vsu\/stuorg\/save\/index.html\">\r\nStudents Against Violating the Environment (S.A.V.E.)<\/a>,\r\neach apparently twice as heavyweight as a Foundation Trustee,\r\nwill be:<!--more-->\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/11\/anytime-we-use-coal-or-natural-gas-we-are-linked-to-fracking-and-of-course-climate-change-danielle-jordan-save-2013-11-15.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:120px\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.staticflickr.com\/3786\/11134631916_b1d894ff33_m.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nDanielle Jordan, President,\r\nwho said at the solar canopy ceremony,\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/11\/anytime-we-use-coal-or-natural-gas-we-are-linked-to-fracking-and-of-course-climate-change-danielle-jordan-save-2013-11-15.html\">&#8220;Anytime we use coal or natural gas we are linked to fracking and of course climate change&#8221;<\/a>.\r\nShe wrote\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/11\/a-complete-lack-of-concern-with-our-request-s-a-v-e-to-vsu-president-mckinney.html\">\r\na response<\/a> to \r\nWayne Edwards&#8217; letter, after which\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/11\/vsu-environmental-issues-committee-backs-save-fossil-fuel-divestment.html\">\r\nthe VSU Environmental Issues Committee backed divestment<\/a>\r\nand\r\nthe\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/11\/save-won-at-vsu-faculty-senate.html\">\r\nVSU Faculty Senate<\/a> approved\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ww2.valdosta.edu\/facsen\/meeting\/minutes\/documents\/FacultySenateMinutes11_21_13.pdf\">\r\nwith only one nay<\/a> this resolution:\r\n<blockquote style=\"font-size:100%\">\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FossilFreeValdosta?ref=br_tf\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:120px\" src=\"https:\/\/fbcdn-profile-a.akamaihd.net\/hprofile-ak-prn2\/t1\/c29.2.196.196\/p200x200\/1383279_569133779803130_166203546_n.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nWhereas the tone of the letter is patronizing, condescending and\r\ndismissive; whereas the letter is written and presented on VSU\r\nletterhead and therefore apparently represents VSU administrative\r\nthought- We the Faculty Senate condemn and reject the letter written\r\nand sent by Wayne Edwards, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the VSU Foundation Board of Trustees\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/?attachment_id=6982\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;width:120px;border:none\" src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/PC090592.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n in response to the President of\r\nS.A.V.E. and that groups concerns and efforts toward foundation\r\ndivestment from companies or funds supporting fossil fuel\r\nextraction.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n<li>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/12\/video-of-spectra-answering-a-question-about-sabal-trail-in-madison-fl-sabal-2013-12-17.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:120px\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.ytimg.com\/vi\/YcFg8AjccQM\/mqdefault.jpg\"><\/a>\r\nBenjamin Vieth, a VSU grad student pursuing an MA in history, is active about fossil fuel issues\r\nas far away as\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2013\/12\/video-of-spectra-answering-a-question-about-sabal-trail-in-madison-fl-sabal-2013-12-17.html\">\r\nMadison, Florida<\/a>.\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chamberorganizer.com\/valdostachamber\/mem_306north\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;width:120px\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chamberorganizer.com\/valdostachamber\/photos\/CG161596ul8P.JPG\"><\/a>\r\nNo faculty (other than Dr. McKinney) were invited.\r\n<p>\r\nThis should be an interesting dinner.\r\n<p>\r\n -jsq\r\n<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The VSU Foundation has invited SAVE to dinner Monday.
