Today Scott Keyes reported for ThinkProgress that <a href=\"http:\/\/thinkprogress.org\/justice\/2012\/06\/21\/503766\/dell-drops-alec\/?utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_source=pulsenews\"> Dell Becomes 21st Company To Drop ALEC<\/a>. So many companies have ditched the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.alecexposed.org\/wiki\/What_is_ALEC%3F\"> corporate-legislative private-public partnership<\/a> American Legislative Exchange (ALEC) that it&#39;s hard to keep count. Yet we still haven&#39;t heard from The Southern Company (SO), even as <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/04\/alec-bills-to-ditch-renewable-energy-and-the-southern-company.html\"> ALEC continues its drive to dismantle incntives for renewable energy and preserve fracking loopholes,<\/a> and <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/06\/so-ceo-fanning-policy-jobs-and-the-economy-plus-fracking.html\"> The Southern Company continues expanding use of natural gas (knowing it comes from fracking)<\/a> <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/06\/videos-of-shareholder-questions-to-southern-company-so-2012-05-23.html\"> <img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float:right;border:none;\"    class=\"at-xid-6a0120a58214e4970b017615b40f21970c\" src=\"\/blog\/images\/6a0120a58214e4970b017615b40f21970c-pi.jpg\" \/><\/a> while putting off solar and wind until <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/05\/salute-for-less-coal-how-about-third-party-solar-mark-woodall-so-2012-05-23.html\">&quot;one day&quot;<\/a> some time next decade maybe, and (through its subsidiary Georgia Power) <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/02\/georgia-power-peddling-old-disinformation-about-solar-power.html\"> actively opposing fixing Georgia legislative hurdles to renewable energy.<\/a> All that plus <a href=\"\/blog\/2012\/05\/exit-strategy-for-when-this-big-nuclear-bet-goes-bad-john-s-quarterman-so-2012-05-23.html\"> wasting Georgia Power customer cash and taxpayer dollars on useless new nukes at Plant Vogtle.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Come on, Southern Company and CEO Thomas A. Fanning: you can do better than that!
