\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThe Commission’s designated first speaker\r\n\r\nconfused order with good<\/a>.\r\nChairman Bill Slaughter\r\nrequired a sitting judge to go to the podium to speak,\r\neven though he had not required that for multiple Spectra pipeline reps\r\nthe previous morning.\r\nNottinghill<\/a> is finally resolved,\r\nafter yet more probing questions by Commissioners; more than they\r\nasked the Spectra reps.\r\nA\r\n\r\nVSU professor<\/a>\r\nand\r\n\r\na landowner<\/a>\r\nasked very good questions about the pipeline,\r\na\r\n\r\nKLVB board member<\/a> gave a report,\r\nand\r\n\r\nGretchen asked the Commission<\/a> to post Planning Commission minutes online.\r\n

\r\nTwo people were\r\n\r\nappointed<\/a>; one spoke.\r\nThe two\r\n\r\nbeer<\/a> licenses<\/a>, a\r\n\r\nliquor license<\/a>,\r\nthe\r\n\r\ndecorative special tax lighting district for Windstone<\/a>,\r\nthe\r\n\r\ncontracts<\/a>,\r\nthe\r\n\r\nresolution to ask the legislature for an additional judge<\/a>,\r\nand the\r\n\r\nbids<\/a> were all approved with little discussion.\r\nThe\r\n\r\nsettlement for back pay<\/a> it turns out didn’t\r\nactually involve\r\nemployees having to sue to get paid.\r\n

    \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nRev. Commissioner Richard Raines for once eschewed his usual partisan politics\r\n“Republican form of government”\r\nand said “representative form of government”\r\nand even “the people’s business”.\r\nHowever, he seems to think order is the same as good:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

    \r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n…thank you that we can have citizen involvement.\r\nBecause this community is no different than others.\r\nWe have people who want to do good and see good\r\nand we have people that just want to create chaos.\r\nFather I pray that you would thwart the efforts of those\r\nthat just want to create chaos\r\nand that you would grant wisdom to those of us who want to do good.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

    \r\nHe’s the same Richard Raines who \r\nmoved to pass both the Solid Waste Ordinance and\r\nthe trash Exclusive Franchise with ADS<\/a>,\r\ncreating not only the occasion for the chaos of\r\nChairman Slaughter’s made-up rule\r\nof fifteen minutes on any citizen topic<\/a>\r\nand\r\n\r\nthe court case Lowndes County lost against a local company<\/a>.\r\nMaybe order isn’t the same as good, and inappropriate order\r\ncan cause chaos, not to mention expense.\r\nIf the Commission is against chaos, maybe they can do more to\r\nstop the disruptive Sabal Trail pipeline.\r\nMeanwhile,\r\nRichard Raines is not running again<\/a>,\r\nso District 2 is an open seat in the election this year.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
