\r\nReminding everyone of what they do and\r\nwhat VSU President McKinney said,\r\nStudents Against Violating the Environment\r\nhas\r\n\r\na new website<\/a>.\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n

\r\n

\r\nS.A.V.E. is an environmental activist organization based on the\r\ncampus of Valdosta State University (VSU). It is composed of\r\nstudents from all majors, and any VSU student is welcome to join\r\nregardless of race, gender, age, or sexual orientation.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThe mission of the organization is to increase environmental\r\nawareness and engage students with the community while maintaining a\r\nvoice in local, state, and national politics. We believe that\r\nenvironmentalism is a humanitarian cause and that our efforts will\r\nnot only aid in conserving natural resources, but will serve to\r\nstrengthen our community.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nWe are interested in promoting clean energy, recycling, and working\r\nto create a more sustainable campus.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nAnd at the\r\n\r\n15 November 2013 VSU<\/a> solar canopy celebration\r\n\r\nDr. McKinney said<\/a>:\r\n

\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n“This is a great first step …. So long as I am President, I am\r\ncommitted to developing a culture of sustainability on this campus.\r\nI do not believe for a moment that environmental sustainability and\r\nthe long-term economic well being of the university are\r\ncontradictory goals.”\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
