\r\nThe Valdosta City Council votes Thursday on\r\na contract for flood mapping<\/a>\r\nrelated to the\r\n\r\nseries of secretive Army Corps of Engineers meetings<\/a>,\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nplus bids for water and sewer and smoke testing sewers<\/a>.\r\nThey’re also swearing in winners of the recent\r\nelection<\/a> and electing a mayor pro-tem (probably the same one),\r\nalong with\r\na change to the\r\nEntertainment Ordinance<\/a>\r\nand\r\npublic hearings to close an alley<\/a>\r\nand\r\nabandon part of a street<\/a>,\r\nand the usual\r\n\r\nCity Manager’s Report<\/a>,\r\n\r\nCouncil Comments<\/a>,\r\nand\r\n\r\nCitizens to be Heard<\/a>.\r\n

\r\n<\/a>\r\nNo detail in the city’s agenda about the flood mapping, but\r\nat the Lowndes County Commission\r\n\r\nWork Session 11 November 2013<\/a>\r\nEmergency Services Director Ashley Tye said\r\nthe current agreement wouldn’t obligate any payment, merely to reserve the right to contract at a later date if that seemed to be in the county’s best interests,\r\nand at the\r\n\r\nRegular Session 12 November 2013<\/a>\r\n\r\nthe county approved getting\r\n\r\nLIDAR<\/a>\r\ndata from\r\n\r\nNOAA Coastal Services Center<\/a>.\r\nNeither the county nor the city has published this agreement.\r\n
