\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nVP of Stakeholder Outreach Susan Waller doesn’t want visitors\r\nat Spectra’s new office in Valdosta.\r\nWhich is in the same building as the Industrial Authority,\r\nwhich also didn’t really want some visitors it got during\r\nthe biomass controversy.\r\n

\r\nSusan Waller, vice president of stakeholder outreach and\r\nsustainability said, “That is our right-of-way office. It has\r\nabout 30 right-of-way agents, survey crews, our files and documents,\r\nand a few meeting rooms.”\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe office houses agents for three counties and will be open in\r\nValdosta for approximately five years, Waller said.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nSabal Trail has eight offices along the pipeline’s route, she said.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n“These are not really the facilities for residents to drop by\r\nto express concerns because all of the agents will be in and out of\r\nthe office constantly; however, they could call and make an\r\nappointment.”\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nThe VDT didn’t mention that the new Sabal Trail office is at\r\n2010 North Patterson Street, according to the\r\nbusiness license filed with the City of Valdosta two weeks ago.\r\nThat’s the same building as the\r\nIndustrial Authority, which I hear was somewhat astonished at that\r\nnews at the VLCIA meeting last week.\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nAbout 40 citizens were outside the Valdosta-Lowndes County\r\nIndustrial Authority to protest the proposed Wiregrass LLC biomass\r\nfacility at the regular monthly meeting.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThe now familiar “Biomass? No!” sign was held by\r\nnumerous citizens standing alongside North Patterson Street,\r\nshouting and cheering when the many cars drove by and honked their\r\nhorns.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nStudents Against Air Pollution, blocked the main entrance to the\r\nIndustrial Authority building, staging a “die-in,” in\r\nwhich protesters pretended to be dead in order to symbolize the\r\nvarious health effects associated with biomass incineration.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThroughout the Authority meeting, constant shouts and chants could\r\nbe heard, such as, “Air pollution is air\r\npollution—biomass is not a substitution!”\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nAt times, it became difficult to hear the meeting proceedings as a\r\nresult of the chants.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nAnd let’s not forget\r\n\r\nDrive Away CCA marching at the Industrial Authority in 2012<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nOh, by the way, in both those cases, the protesters won.\r\n

\r\nMaybe if Susan Waller and Spectra hadn’t\r\nleft so many questions unanswered<\/a>\r\nthey might not have to worry about citizens dropping in.\r\n
