\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nSabal Trail pipeline presentation\r\nis\r\n\r\nDecember 9th<\/a> like\r\nthe front page of the VDT said<\/a>.\r\nThe online agenda\r\n\r\nis still incorrect a month later<\/a>\r\nabout\r\n\r\nGreen Lane<\/a>\r\nwhich is still listed as “For consideration” when it should be listed\r\nas a Public Hearing.\r\nAlapaha Water Treatment Plant<\/a>\r\nwas voted on this time,\r\nas was mysteriously appearing\r\n“Consideration of Back Pay for 911 Employees”<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nLike the\r\n\r\nthe Planning Commission<\/a>,\r\nthey tabled\r\nNottinghill<\/a>.\r\nWith much less discussion than the\r\n\r\nPlanning Commission<\/a>,\r\nthey approved\r\nyet another Dollar General<\/a>.\r\nPlus\r\nthree decorative special tax lighting districts,\r\nmosquito control<\/a>,\r\npump replacement<\/a>, the annual\r\n\r\nMIDS bus service<\/a>\r\ncontract,\r\na\r\n\r\nbeer license<\/a>,\r\nsomething about\r\n\r\nNOAA<\/a>, and an agreement with the Lowndes County\r\nBoard of Elections<\/a>\r\nfor paying employees.\r\n

        \r\nNeighbor Nancy [?] was concerned about traffic on US 41.\r\nCounty Engineer Mike Fletcher said at this time there were no plans\r\nfor widening 41.\r\nChairman Bill Slaughter said a study would be done about that; he didn’t say when.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nAgainst cont. REZ-2013-15 Teramore Development, Old US 41 N PD to C-G<\/a>\r\n\"Against<\/a>\r\n

        \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nSeth Hodge was concerned about enough time for the residents in the\r\nmobile home park to move, saying 90 days was not very long.\r\nCounty Planner Jason Davenport said there had been at least\r\none meeting with residents about that.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nLocal attorney Bill Nijem, speaking for the applicant, Dollar General,\r\nsaid residents actually were 30 day at-will tenants, so they had plenty of time.\r\nAlso applicant had to run a sewer line across a neighbor’s property.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nOne Commissioner (John Page?) wanted to know if they could bundle\r\nall the special tax lighting districts into one motion, and\r\nwas dissuaded from that.\r\nNobody from the public spoke for or against this one.\r\nCommissioner Richard Raines moved to approve with this condition:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nUnless the proposed lighting charges are paid in advance,\r\nLowndes County shall not be liable for payment for activation of the lights\r\nbefore November 16, 2014.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

        \r\nUnanimous approval with that condition.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        2. \r\nMosquito Control Contract<\/a>\r\n\"Mosquito<\/a>\r\n

          \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nPublic Works Director Robin Cumbus said this was a contract with VSU.\r\nCommissioner John Page wondered if Public Works had that amount in\r\nits budget.\r\nCumbus said yes.\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall moved to approve.\r\nUnanimous approval.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        3. \r\n<\/a>\r\nPump Replacement and Repair for two Lift Stations<\/a>\r\n\"Pump<\/a>\r\n

          \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nUtilities Director Mike Allen asked to replace Pine Grove(?) Lift Station\r\nfor\r\n$13,132\r\nand to repair\r\nFoxborough Lift Station for\r\n$16,723.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

          \r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall wanted to know if SPLOST VI\r\ncould be used to pay for these items.\r\nAllen said no, it would come out of the utility budget,\r\nwhich had money set aside for such instances\r\n<\/p>\r\n

          \r\nCommissioner Richard Raines made the motion; Commissioner John Page seconded;\r\nunanimous approval.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        4. \r\n<\/a>\r\nContract for 5311 Public Transport<\/a>\r\n\"Contract<\/a>\r\n

          \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nCounty Engineer Mike Fletcher said\r\nit’s the usual renewal for MIDS, Inc. to run the county’s on-call bus system.\r\nNobody else responded to an RFP.\r\n

          \r\nYou should have before you a copy of the contract between Lowndes County\r\nand MIDS for operation of this program.\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

          \r\nThe public couldn’t see that contract, which he said included\r\nthree annual renewals, through 2017.\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall moved to approve.\r\nCommissioner Joyce Evans seconded.\r\nUnanimous approval.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        5. \r\nAbandonment of a Portion of Green Lane<\/a>\r\n

          \r\nMoved up to\r\n5.f.<\/a> (but still wrong on the agenda).\r\n<\/p>\r\n

          \r\nVideo.<\/a>\r\nUtilities Director Mike Allen said he had received a letter\r\nfrom GA EPD requiring the Chairman’s signature, confirming\r\nthe timeline.\r\nCommissioner Richard Raines.\r\nwanted clarification that the motion was to acknowledge\r\nthe consent order.\r\nChairman clarified that it was to authorize the\r\nchairman to sign the consent order.\r\nRaines: “So moved.”\r\nCommissioner Joyce Evans seconded.\r\nUnanimous approval.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
