\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nSpectra Energy subsidiary Sabal Trail Transmission held\r\n\r\na landowner one-on-one at Wiregrass Tech last night<\/a>.\r\nMatthew Woody of the VDT was there, as was one Valdosta City Council\r\nmember, one Lowndes County Commissioner, and at least two county staff,\r\nplus some landowners (“might as well get something out of this”,\r\nseveral said at the food bar), one of whom was a match for Andrea Grover.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nTim Carroll told me after talking to Brian Fahrenthold that the pipeline\r\nwouldn’t go through Valdosta.\r\nI pointed out that,\r\n\r\naccording to Andrea Grover in Moultrie<\/a>,\r\nSabal Trail had to submit a preferred option and an alternate,\r\nand FERC could pick the alternate.\r\nAnd the alternate is the path that goes through Valdosta.\r\nCarroll said he had just been told that the Valdosta route\r\nhad been intended to go along a Georgia Power right of way,\r\nso that’s a bit of new information.\r\nWatch out, Valdosta!\r\nYou don’t know this thing is going around you.\r\n

\r\nLowndes County Utilities Director Mike Allen was also there.\r\nNone of the county people seemed happy about this pipeline.\r\n

\r\nCommissioner Demarcus Marshall asked Brian\r\nFahrenthold if he would speak at a Lowndes County Commission Work Session.\r\nFahrenthold said yes.\r\nI think they tentatively agreed on 9 December 2013.\r\n

\r\nHere we see Andrea Grover meet her match.\r\nCarol Singletary spent literally ten minutes asking for a list of\r\nlandowners along the pipeline path.\r\nAndrea Grover kept saying whatever they could make available would\r\nbe in the FERC filing, and in the meantime they were still finalizing\r\nthe list as they talked to landowners.\r\nCarol Singletary eventually asked point-blank would Spectra make\r\nthe list available before then,\r\nand Andrea Grover finally said “no”.\r\nMore later about Carol Singletary’s efforts to organize opposition.\r\n

\r\nI complimented Andrea Grover on staying on message better than almost\r\nanybody I’d ever seen.\r\nShe said she truly believed in the company and what it was doing\r\nand she would always tell the truth.\r\nThat may be so, but not always the whole truth.\r\nFor example, obviously Spectra does have a working list\r\nthat they used to determine who they wanted to talk to in that meeting.\r\nYou can figure out who the landowners in the path are by looking\r\nup the parcel numbers on the maps that were on display;\r\nsee later post for pictures of them.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
