\r\nI went to the\r\n\r\nSpectra Pipeline meeting in Moultrie tonight<\/a>,\r\nwhere many people in blue shirts saying Sabal Trail, including\r\n\r\nBrian Fahrenthold<\/a>\r\n(who volunteered that I could take pictures of maps)\r\nand\r\nAndrea Grover<\/a> (who will be in Valdosta tomorrow),\r\nwere happy to answer questions from a landowner such as myself.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nI asked what was special about Lee County that the pipeline avoided it.\r\nAndrea Grover obligingly pulled this map out of a box of maps they’d\r\nused in previous meetings and demonstrated that the pipeline doesn’t\r\ncompletely avoid Lee County; it does pass through one piece of it:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe pipeline then dives into Dougherty County.\r\nI really couldn’t follow the reasons they gave for that,\r\nwhich seemed to include avoiding population centers (but it heads\r\nfor Albany).\r\nI think they concluded the main reason was to meet up with another,\r\npre-existing, pipeline right of way.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nBy “they” I mean there were so few Colquitt County locals at the\r\nMoultrie meeting by the time I arrived (45 minutes late)\r\nthat any question resulted in half a dozen congenial blue-shirted\r\nreps gathering around to answer.\r\nDougherty County with labels:\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThey had on easels maps of specific plots the pipeline route\r\ncurrently passes through.\r\nThe main point of the meeting seemed to be to talk to the specific\r\nlandowners who own those plots.\r\nExample plot 1:\r\n<\/p>\r\n
