\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nYou can comment on\r\nroad improvements at I-75 and\r\nexit 11 onto GA 31\r\nMadison Highway<\/a> towards Clyattville,\r\nexit 22 onto\r\nUS 41 North Valdosta Road<\/a>, and\r\n\r\nExit 29 onto GA 122 at Hahira<\/a>,\r\nat the\r\nValdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Planning Organization (VLMPO),\r\nthe one board around here that goes out of its way to ask for\r\npublic input, with\r\ninformation in many public offices,\r\nwith an open house at their office,\r\nand with details of their\r\nprojects on\r\n\r\nVALOR GIS<\/a>\r\n(select interactive map, then More<\/strike> in the upper right Layers, then MPO Transportation Improvements),\r\nincluding links to project sheets<\/strike>\/ GDOT Project Search (GeoPI)<\/a> is similarly useless for finding the project sheets\r\n (which I’ve linked into the public notice below; well one of them is correct).\r\n

\r\n\r\nPublic Notice of a Public Comment Period and Public Open House<\/a>,\r\n

\r\n

\r\nIn accordance with requirements set forth in the adopted FY2014-2017\r\nTransportation Improvement Program and in 23 CFR 450 and other laws\r\nand regulations; the Valdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Planning\r\nOrganization (VLMPO) proposes to amend its Transportation\r\nImprovement Program for Fiscal Years 2014-2017 (TIP) for the\r\nValdosta Metropolitan Planning Area which includes all of Lowndes\r\nCounty and portions of Berrien,\r\nBrooks and Lanier Counties.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe proposed projects in the amendment are as follows:\r\n\r\n#0000762, I-75 at Exits 22 & 29<\/a>, increase funding for ROW to $20,000,000\r\ntotal.\r\n\r\n#0010297,\r\nI-75 at Exit 11<\/a>, increase funding for ROW to\r\n$2,582,980 total, and move to funding year FY2016.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThis TIP Amendment is available for public review and comment from\r\nOctober 14, 2013 to October 28, 2013 at the Southern Georgia\r\nRegional Commission, 327 W Savannah Ave.; all public libraries in\r\nBerrien, Brooks, Lanier and Lowndes Counties; on the VLMPO website\r\n(www.sgrc.us\/transportation<\/a><\/strike>\r\nhttp:\/\/www.sgrc.us\/transportation-plans.html<\/a>); all county government administration\r\noffices in Berrien, Brooks, Lanier and Lowndes Counties; and all\r\ncity government administration offices in Lowndes County.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nOn Thursday, October 24, 2013 the VLMPO will host a Public Open\r\nHouse at the office of the Southern Georgia Regional Commission (327\r\nW Savannah Ave.) from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm to allow members of the\r\npublic to ask questions and speak to VLMPO staff regarding the\r\nprojects in the TIP. Accessibility aids (interpreter, large print,\r\netc.) will be made available at the open house if a written request\r\nis made at least one week prior to the event.
