\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nWill the County Commission take up\r\nNottinghill<\/a>\r\neven though the Planning Commission tabled it?\r\nIs\r\nBarrington subdivision<\/a>\r\nnow ready to sprawl into the county?\r\nDid Commissioners ever get that list of roads for\r\nstriping<\/a>?\r\nDo we have enough\r\nevidence<\/a> yet for juvenile justice?\r\nOr will we continue to concentrate on\r\nfining people coming off of I-75<\/a>?\r\nWho was\r\nLeila Ellis<\/a>, anyway?\r\nAnd who will be\r\nVice Chairman<\/a> (hint: Joyce Evans is now)?\r\nAll that and a\r\n\r\ngroup photo<\/a>, continuing the tradition of County Commission\r\nmeetings as content-free photo-ops.\r\n

        \r\nThe\r\nThis\r\nrezoning was\r\n\r\ntabled at the request of developer and county staff at the Planning Commission<\/a>.\r\nThe County Commission could choose to take it up anyway,\r\nbut they probably won’t (this time).\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nBarrington subdivision\r\nwas also in \r\n\r\nthat same 23 July 2013 meeting<\/a>.\r\nThis time they’re making water and sewer changes to its plan,\r\npresumably so in a later meeting they can then accept it into the\r\ncounty’s road, water, and sewer infrastructure so the county can\r\nstart paying the price of sprawl.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

          \r\nWho was this\r\n<\/a>\r\nLeila Ellis Building named after?\r\nAccording to\r\n\r\nLeila Ellis Neighborhood<\/a> by the City of Valdosta:\r\n

          \r\nLocated just northeast of the Central Business District, the Leila\r\nEllis neighborhood developed during the late nineteenth and early\r\ntwentieth century and is a first generation suburb of Valdosta. The\r\nname of this neighborhood is derived from the former Leila Ellis\r\nElementary School located within this neighborhood, which is now the\r\nLowndes County Social Services and LAMP building. The school was\r\nnamed for Leila Ellis, a longtime Valdosta resident and devoted\r\nschool teacher and principle, who lived in Valdosta from 1865 until\r\nher death in 1950. A large portion of this neighborhood is within\r\nthe East End Historic District, listed on the National Register of\r\nHistoric Places, and the western half of the neighborhood is also\r\nincluded within the Valdosta Local Historic District. This community\r\nis a close~knit and mostly residen\ufb01al community with several\r\nchurches, professional offices, commercial businesses, and community\r\nservices.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

          \r\nThat Valdosta city document refers to a Character Area Map,\r\nbut includes the wrong one (of Greer Park).\r\nLAMP is \r\nLowndes Associated Ministries to People<\/a>,\r\n601 N. Lee Sreet, a consortium of dozens of local churches\r\nwhose\r\n\r\nfacebook page<\/a> says:\r\n<\/p>\r\n
