\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n“Why not go ahead and put a tap in, or whatever you call it so we\r\ncould utilize that gas instead of just being a transit through our\r\narea,” Lyle said.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nWALB didn’t record an answer, but stay tuned, Spectra heard him.\r\n

\r\nUnfortunately, Commissioner Lyle is also now singing Spectra’s tune:\r\n

\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThe Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will have the ultimate say\r\non the route, but commissioners want affected residents to speak up.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n“They’ll be contacted by Sabal Transmission employees about\r\nsurveying and talking to them. So they don’t need to just resist the\r\nproject, they need to offer valid alternative,” said Lyle.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nIt’s\r\n\r\na $3 billion project<\/a> yet \r\nlocal landowners should do Spectra’s mapping work for it?\r\nHere’s a valid alternative:\r\ninstall solar panels instead, for local power for local Georgians,\r\nwith no risk to the environment, and much less land affected.\r\n

\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nIn Dougherty County, their second public hearing is coming up:\r\n

\r\n

\r\nA public hearing on the project will be held in the first week of\r\nOctober. Other public meetings will be scheduled in December and at\r\nthe beginning of the year.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nWhen will Lowndes County Commissioners schedule public hearings here?\r\n
