\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nThey voted to put the\r\n\r\nSPLOST VII Resolution<\/a> on the ballot in November,\r\n\r\n“to reimpose the tax”<\/a>, with not even a hint of those\r\n\r\ntown halls that never happened<\/a>.\r\nThey reappointed\r\n\r\nMac McCall to ZBOA<\/a>.\r\nThe Proclamation<\/a>\r\nwas for a boy who called 911 to help an old neighbor\r\nwho was trapped under a refrigerator\r\n(nope, not for\r\n\r\nSouth Georgia Pride<\/a>).\r\nAnd we learned that nobody has to fear arrest or threat\r\nand everybody can speak their mind<\/a>\r\nin the Commission chambers; nevermind recent history to the contrary.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      \r\nChairman Bill Slaughter moved it\r\n\r\nto the end of the meeting<\/a>.\r\nHe did at least ask if there were any objections from Commissioners.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

    4. \r\n\r\nAppointment — Valdosta\/Lowndes County Zoning Board of Appeals<\/a>\r\n

      \r\nThey unanimously reappointed John “Mac” McCall to ZBOA.\r\nThis time they mentioned they had appointed him\r\n\r\nlast December to the unexpired part of Dave Kirk<\/a>.\r\nMcCall\r\n\r\nspoke the previous morning<\/a>;\r\nhe was not present this time.\r\n\r\nZoning Administrator Carmella Braswell<\/a> spoke instead.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

    5. \r\n\r\nResolution – SPLOST VII Resolution<\/a>\r\n

      \r\nCounty Manager Joe Pritchard muttered something nowhere near his microphone.\r\nCommissioner John Page moved “to adopt the resolution as presented”.\r\nThey proceeded to do that, even though we the voters have never seen\r\nthat resolution.\r\nSee\r\n\r\nWork Session video for a bit more detail<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      1. \r\n\r\nGEMA Performance Partnership Agreement (FY 2013)<\/a>\r\n

        \r\nEmergency Manager Ashley Tye, sitting in the Engineer’s seat,\r\nreminded the Commissioners again that this was\r\nan annual renewal, reiterating responsibilities, and serving as a conduit for\r\n$32,770 per year from GEMA.\r\nPlus by having this agreement in place, the county can get financial\r\nand other resources from GEMA during a disaster.\r\nSee\r\n\r\nWork Session video for a bit about matching funds<\/a>.\r\nCommissioner Joyce Evans moved to approve, which they did unanimously.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      2. \r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nSewer Service Requested for Lowndes County Board of Education<\/a>\r\n

        \r\n

        \r\nCommissioner Crawford Powell asked for Option 3 to be displayed\r\nor read, about\r\nsewer service for\r\nLake Park Elementary to help out their failing septic tank;\r\nsee\r\n\r\nseparate post<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

      3. \r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nCitizens Wishing to be Heard Please State Name And Address <\/a>\r\n

        \r\nMs. Anita L. Armstrong of Gaines Lane asked for help with her private road,\r\nbut isn’t likely to get it; see\r\n\r\nseparate post<\/a>.\r\n<\/ol>\r\n
