\r\nAnd now we find out the company has been deliberately using\r\nradiation detectors that max out at just 100 mSv.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nThe Tokyo Electric Power Company (Tepco) had originally said the\r\nradiation emitted by the leaking water was around 100 millisieverts\r\nan hour.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nHowever, the company said the equipment used to make that recording\r\ncould only read measurements of up to 100 millisieverts.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe new recording, using a more sensitive device, showed a level of\r\n1,800 millisieverts an hour.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nIto Tetsuo Professor of Kinki University (radiation biology) said,\r\nregarding the level of hourly 1800 mSv, “There is only a thing\r\ncalled death if you stay exposed to this for four hours. One hundred\r\npercent of persons will die within 30 days.”\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
