\r\nIn a recharge zone for\r\n\r\nour drinking water supply, the Floridan Aquifer<\/a>,\r\nis the Pecan Row Landfill\r\n\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nwith its\r\n\r\nPCBs<\/a> and\r\n\r\ncoal ash<\/a>.\r\nThat proposed\r\n\r\nlandfill pipeline<\/a> requiring cutting through the vegetative buffer\r\nalong an unnamed tributary to Spring Branch?\r\nAlso at least partly in the recharge zone.\r\n

\r\n\r\n\"WRPDO<\/a>\r\nAccording to\r\n\r\nMAP 2 : LOWNDES COUNTY\r\nWATER RESOURCE PROTECTION DISTRICTS\r\nORDINANCE (WRPDO) OVERLAY MAP<\/a>,\r\nthere’s a recharge zone crossing Wetherington Lane at that unnamed tributary\r\nof Spring Branch, which flows into the Withlacoochee River.\r\n\r\n\r\n

\r\nDoes a landfill with hazardous wastes recharging into our drinking water\r\nsupply seem like a good idea to you?\r\nPerhaps the City Council of our local county seat, or our\r\nCounty Commission,\r\nor the\r\n\r\nDeep South Solid Waste Authority (SWA)<\/a>\r\ncould explain this to us.\r\nMaybe before they cut a hole through a vegetative buffer along a tributary\r\nto the Withlacoochee River and on top of the Floridan Aquifer.\r\n

\r\nOr maybe they could\r\n\r\nput up a sign<\/a>\r\nsaying “PCBs and Coal Ash Now Entering Floridan Aquifer”.\r\n
