Nevermind

\n$27,500 fine for PCBs<\/a> or

\ncoal ash in the landfill<\/a> that nobody on the Lowndes County Commission
\nor Valdosta City Council or Deep South Solid Waste Authority (SWA)<\/a> can be bothered to check on.
\nNevermind the

\nunaccounted for<\/a> tipping fees
\nor
\nhost fees<\/a>.
\nI wonder if cutting through that vegetative buffer will let the coal ash and PCBs reach the Withlacoochee River more easily?<\/p>\n

\nThe proposed project located west of Valdosta, in Lowndes County, GA
\nalong Wetherington Lane near the Pecan Row Landfill facility (2995
\nWetherington Lane, Valdosta, GA, 31601) involves buffer
\nencroachments necessary to install a 30-inch gas pipeline. This
\npipeline will connect the nearby Evergreen Landfill to the proposed
\nPecan Row Landfill gas to energy facility. The pipeline easement
\nwill be maintained after construction to an herbaceous vegetation
\n
\n<\/a>
\nlevel. The project will require buffer disturbance of 30 linear feet
\nalong an unnamed tributary to Spring Branch.\n<\/p>\n

\nThis work requires a stream buffer variance complying with the rules
\nof the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources,
\n
\nEnvironmental Protection Division<\/a>,
\n
