\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nUnanimous approval for\r\na third no-bid contract this month for Lovell Engineering, this time for\r\n\r\nfor a sports complex in Hahira<\/a>,\r\nbut surprisingly\r\nthe\r\nopaque pest control bids<\/a>\r\nwere tabled indefinitely.\r\nAlso unanimously approved were\r\nthree new fine-processing positions for the Clerk of Court<\/a>,\r\nthe\r\nLittle River stream gauge<\/a>,\r\nThe special presentation was for\r\nthe retirement of Gene Roberts from Public Works<\/a>.\r\nNo mention of the previous morning’s presentations by\r\nJudge John Kent Edwards Jr.\r\n\r\nasking for a new State Court Judge<\/a>\r\nor\r\n\r\nabout fines moving from Sheriff to State Court<\/a>.\r\nDr. Michael Noll said\r\n\r\nMoody AFB once again couldn’t get access<\/a>\r\nto the site for the Moody Family Housing the Commission already approved,\r\ndespite the sinkhole on the adjoining land.\r\n

    \r\nGene Roberts retired from Public Works and the county provided more evidence\r\nof one of its apparent bills of attainder.\r\nSee\r\n\r\nseparate post<\/a>.\r\nNo mention of\r\n\r\nthe previous morning’s special presentation by State Court John Edwards<\/a>\r\nasking for an additional State Court Judge.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

    \r\nWe don’t know if there were any changes sent to the Clerk after\r\n\r\nChairman Bill Slaughter directed Commissioners\r\nto tell the Clerk of any changes<\/a> the previous morning.\r\nNo new changes were brought up, and the minutes were unanimously approved.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

        \r\nFilling in,\r\nChad McLeod made much the same presentation\r\n\r\nas\r\nabsent Invisible Engineer Mike Fletcher made the previous morning<\/a>.\r\n

        \r\n\r\n\r\n\"Commissioner<\/a>\r\n\r\nCommissioner John Page wanted to know if Parks and Rec\r\nhas authority to build something else\r\nthere other than a soccer field.\r\n
        \r\nAnswer: yes.\r\n

        \r\nHe also wanted to know if it was within the city limits of Hahira?\r\n
        \r\nAnswer: yes.\r\n

        \r\nIs there water and sewer?\r\n
        \r\nAnswer: yes, at the skate park, and can be extended.\r\n

        \r\nAre those from the city of Hahira?\r\n
        \r\nAnswer: yes.\r\n

        \r\n“So we would have to pay them to run that, or how would that work?”\r\n
        \r\nAnswer: “That’s correct; that would be part of the construction once we began.”\r\n

        \r\nI don’t understand how that last answered the question.\r\n

        \r\nThe Commissioners\r\nthen unanimously approved a third no-bid contract for the same firm this month,\r\nto Lovell Engineering.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n

      2. \r\n<\/a>\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nUSGS Funding Agreement for Hwy 122 Stream Gauge<\/a>\r\n

        \r\nEmergency Director Ashley Tye once again said it’s on the Little River;\r\nsee\r\n\r\nthe previous morning’s Work Session for\r\nwhy it’s there, how it’s maintained, etc.<\/a>.\r\nUnanimously approved.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      3. \r\n<\/a>\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nBudget Adjustment — Personnel Costs<\/a>\r\n

        \r\n\"Inaudible<\/a>\r\n\r\nInaudible County Manager Joe Pritchard spoke up to\r\noverrule County Chairman Bill Slaughter\r\nand took over this presentation from Finance Director Stephanie Black,\r\nsummarizing\r\n\r\nthe much longer discussion of the previous morning<\/a>\r\nthat involved\r\nJudge John Kent Edwards Jr.\r\nBasically collection of fines coming off of I-75\r\nis moving from the Sheriff’s office\r\nto the Clerk of Court.\r\nThree positions in the Clerk’s office were unanimously approved.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

      4. \r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nBid-Pest Control Service<\/a>\r\n

        \r\n\r\n\"Sour<\/a>\r\n\r\nAfter\r\n\r\nthe previous morning’s questions about<\/a>\r\npest control for an unannounced amount with no bond from one of two\r\nunannounced bids,\r\nCounty Manager Joe Pritchard,\r\nstrangely audible and looking very unhappy about it,\r\nsaid staff had found new information and asked to table it indefinitely.\r\nCommissioner John Page so moved, Commissioner Richard Raines seconded,\r\nand no discussion all approved.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

      5. \r\n\r\nReports-County Manager<\/a>\r\n

        \r\nCounty Manager Joe Pritchard said\r\n“we took care of that yesterday; there’s no report”.\r\nPresumably he was referring to the previous morning’s\r\n\r\nExecutive Session for pending litigation<\/a>.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
