\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nMeanwhile, how far can Georgia Power and Southern Company hold us back\r\nin Georgia before\r\n\r\nthey come up with a plan to make the southeast a net exporter of energy<\/a>,\r\nbringing jobs here and profit to their shareholders?\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\nFormerly all-powerful Georgia Power accepted with good grace\r\nGA PSC’s requirement to more than double its solar purchases<\/a>.\r\nAnd its uncle Southern Company \r\nbacked off on its latest cost overrun request for nuclear Plant Vogtle<\/a>.\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\n\r\nHow many more\r\n\r\nnukes shutting down or not being built (5 + 5 in the past year)<\/a>\r\nwill it take before Georgia Power and Southern Company stop wasting our\r\nresources on that boondoggle and get on with distributed rooftop solar\r\nand wind off the Georgia coast?\r\nMaybe if we keep reminding them, not very long.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
