\r\n\r\n<\/a>\r\nIf voters knew what they were voting for with SPLOST VII,\r\nmaybe they’d be more likely to vote for it,\r\nnoted Gretchen Quarterman\r\nat the\r\n\r\n13 August 2013 Regular Session of the Lowndes County Commission<\/a>.\r\n

\r\nGretchen Quarterman said she was happy about the work the county\r\nhad done with the cities to figure out SPLOST VII, but:\r\n

\r\nLast year we didn’t do a good job in the county about getting\r\nthe county residents to go and vote for SPLOST\r\nso now we’re in this gap.\r\nThank you for figuring out how to\r\nfill the gap; if we do that, that’s good.\r\n

\r\nOne of the things that I think would really help us would be if\r\ncitizens could have complete and easy access to information about the SPLOST.\r\nSo you did the little presentation that says\r\n$26 million for roads\r\nand\r\n$17 million for sewer and something.\r\nBut that’s not the\r\nlevel of information\r\nthat at least I’m looking for.\r\n\r\n\"This<\/a>\r\n\r\nThis lady [Anita Armstrong, who had just spoken]<\/a>\r\nwould like to know that her road is going to get paved.\r\nOr that there’s going to be help for\r\n\r\nVal Del [as in traffic in and out of REZ-2013-09 Moody Family Housing]<\/a>,\r\nor something.\r\n

\r\nSo I really think the more information\r\nthat we can make freely available\r\nto people\r\nwithout making them have to ask for it, the easier our job will be.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n
