\r\nEntergy announced August 8th that its Arkansas nuke was back up\r\n\r\nafter a man died there in March<\/a>, but it only made it to 87% power\r\non August 12th and then back to zero yesterday.\r\nThere’s no NRC event for yesterday’s downtime: what’s going on?\r\nMeanwhile, the dead man’s family is suing Entergy, and Entergy\r\nis suing its contractors.\r\nSounds like the Plant Vogtle circular firing squad.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nPrior to restart, the unit needed an extensive restoration,\r\nincluding damage evaluation, repairs to non-nuclear plant components\r\nand rescheduling its refueling activities.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe restoration was made compulsory following the collapse of a\r\ncontractor’s crane on 31 March 2013, while shifting a generator\r\nstator out of the turbine building.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nHm, “made compulsory” by whom?\r\nNRC?\r\nOSHA, which \r\nalso investigated<\/a>?\r\nArkansas?\r\nOther?\r\n

\r\n

\r\nEntergy ANO site vice president Jeremy Browning said, “We’d like to\r\nthank the community for their outpouring of support at both the\r\nlocal and state levels.”\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n\r\n\"ANO<\/a>\r\n“As a corporate neighbor of the Russellville area, your confidence\r\nin us is deeply appreciated. The ANO team is committed to the safety\r\nof this plant, the people who work here and those who live in this\r\ncommunity,” Browning added.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nDuring the event, there was no radiological release and no impact on\r\npublic health or safety.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nThe unit was shut down on 24 March 2013 for its scheduled refueling\r\noutage.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

\r\nHm, a four month plus refueling outage….\r\nAnd Entergy apparently isn’t concerned enough about its neighbors\r\nto tell them why ANO is back down.\r\n

\r\nDuring the long downtime TVH11 staff wrote 2 July 2013,\r\n\r\nWrongful death lawsuit filed in death at Nuclear One plant<\/a>,\r\n

\r\nThe suit states, “This is an action for wrongful death, ordinary\r\nnegligence, negligent hiring, negligent training, negligent\r\nsupervision, negligent retention, negligent hiring of an independent\r\ncontractor, for declaratory judgment, and for punitive damages,\r\nstemming from multiple incidents of recklessness and negligence that\r\nlead to the collapse of an industrial crane on Easter Sunday, 2013,\r\nkilling Wade Walters.”\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\n[T]he suit, which was filed July 2 in Polk County Circuit Court, is\r\nfiled against the following entities:\r\n<\/p>\r\n
