\nrecommended it despite significant defects and omissions?
\nAccording to
\n
\nTechnical Review Committee<\/a> (TRC) analysis,
\nREZ-2013-09 Moody Family will not<\/strong> lessen congestion in the streets
\nor secure safety from fire, panic, and other dangers.
\nTRC also said the application didn’t meet ULDC standards and
\n
\nin somewhat tortured language<\/a>:
\n“although not a proposed condition, it should be
\nnoted on this request that a future traffic study will be required.”
\nWhy not require these things before<\/em> even sending the application
\nto the Planning Commission?\n<\/p>\n

Rumor has it that this development is being pushed not by Moody AFB,
\nrather by

\n the Air Force itself.

\ndirectly inquired about<\/a> the status of
\nthe proposed big subdivision next to the base, REZ-2013-08 MFH Tract-A
\nand the
\n
\nsite plan for REZ-2013-09<\/a> says “Family Housing Privatization, Moody AFB”.<\/p>\n

\nWe know that when the applicant withdrew REZ-2013-08 he
\n
\nspecifically named Balfour Beatty<\/a> as a factor in that withdrawal,
\nand
\nBalfour Beatty is listed as both builder and developer
\non
\n
\nthe REZ-2013-09 site plan<\/a>.

\nIt’s conceivable that the Air Force wants development to be far from Moody’s
\nfront gate.
\nBut why do we need new subdivisions at all when we still have a glut of houses
\nand
\n
\nnew home sales actually dropped below 2010 levels in Q1 2013<\/a>?<\/p>\n

\nThe county could just post such materials on its own website so we’d
\nall have a better idea what’s going on with developments such as this
