\n\n<\/a>\nIn\n\nthe 10 September 2012 Lowndes County Commission Work Session,<\/a>\nAaron Strickland of \nKeep Lowndes-Valdosta Beautiful (KLVB)<\/a>\nsaid there were two applicants for appointement to the\nKLVB board: Emily Preston and Deanna Wagner.\nThey did not speak;<\/strike>\nEmily Macheski-Preston and Deanna Wagner.\nMs. Macheski-Preston spoke (included below); Ms. Wagner did not;\nmaybe tonight.\n<\/p>\n

\nHe gave a brief verbal report, which he said\nwas a summary of a report he submitted last week\n(which we the taxpayers haven’t seen).\nHe said at their Rivers Alive event last year\nthey had a record number of sites cleaned: seven.\nGreat American Cleanup, KLVB’s signature event\nused to be 1 day, but this year was 3 days.\n<\/p>\n

  1. \nValdosta asked for help with a creek project.\n<\/li>\n
  2. \nHelped emergency management after the\n\ntornadoes,<\/a>\nthrough\n\nAshley Tye<\/a> and a group called Vision 388(?).\n<\/li>\n
  3. \nTraditional cleanup day in Valdosta, Lowndes County, and Lake Park.\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    \nHe read some\n\nstatistics on numbers of volunteers and things cleaned up.<\/a>\nHe listed some\n\nfuture events.<\/a>\nThere’s more in the video.\n<\/p>\n

    \nCommissioner Richard Raines wanted to know how much time commitment was involved.\nAnswer: an hour per board meeting and helping out with events and committees.\n<\/p>\n
