The project, which spans\r\nfrom Ashley Street to Park Avenue, will include the reconstruction\r\nof the Williams Street centerline, new curbs and gutters at various\r\nlocations, minor storm drainage repairs and a new asphalt surface.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThe project also features the construction of a 10-foot wide\r\nsidewalk that will tie into the existing 2.7 mile Azalea Trail,\r\nwhich currently stretches from the Vallotton Youth Complex to the\r\nCraig Center on Gordon Street. This multi-purpose trail will soon\r\nafter be extended to Woodrow Wilson Drive, providing additional\r\nrecreational opportunities and a safe route for citizens traveling\r\nto the South Georgia Regional Library.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align:center\">\r\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/2012\/05\/map-of-azalea-city-trail-path-of-saturday-afternoons-bike-ride.html\">\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border:none;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.l-a-k-e.org\/blog\/images\/6a0120a58214e4970b0168eb71a83f970c-pi.jpg\"><\/a>\r\n<p>\r\nDuring the construction,<!--more--> sections of Williams Street will be closed\r\nto the traveling public. Williams Street residents will continue to\r\nhave access to their properties but are urged to use caution around\r\nthe construction zones, especially during the extension of existing\r\ndriveways to the new curb and gutter. Residents are also advised to\r\nlocate and mark all sprinkler heads to avoid any damage to their\r\nirrigation systems.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nAccess to the stadium and parking availability near the stadium are\r\nnot expected to be affected during the upcoming football season, as\r\nthe construction will have moved past this area.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>\r\nThe construction is expected to take approximately 90 days to\r\ncomplete.
